*Raises Hand*
I've been playing a little over a year now. I started on Bass guitar, moved to Acoustic and now I'm getting my Micheal Kelly Valor Custom (http://www.adirondackguitar.com/lefty/michael_kelly/val_cus_blk.jpg) soon. Yes, I am a lefty.
I'm currently in the process of enrolling in one of Berklee's Certificate Programs. To be specific, I'm hoping to get into one of their 'Master' level Certificate Programs focusing on Guitar. After that, I'm hoping to enroll in a good college to get my degree in Music Education, so I can hopefully one day teach music in a school. This way, I'll be able to retire one day, and have benefits.

I guess I can call myself a musician. I can play music by ear since I was around 4. I would play the opening to transformers on a very poorly tuned grand piano, but my parents would know exactly what I was playing. I am currently learning how to play the acoustic guitar. Other than that, I played trumpet, and would like to someday learn how to play the violin. (I think it sounds cool)

Very cool Hibir. If you are really interested in learning guitar, I highly suggest you try out Nextlevelguitar.com
Within a few months, I've gone from knowing nothing, to playing Sweeps, modes, keys, scales, soloing, various techniques on both right and left hand, and tons of other Guitar oriented knowledge. Very helpful.

I'll check that site out, myself. Damned Rock Band made me and my friends want to play real instruments... but I've barely learned/done much at all yet.

I can't relate to playing the guitar, but I do play the trumpet (for maybe 6-7 years now).

I'll be picking up one of these (http://www.pearldrum.com/products/drumsets/forum/features.aspx) bad boys by the end of the summer. I've always wanted to play drums, and Rock Band finally pushed me in to getting one.
Guess I'm the only one here, huh?

The only drummer, it seems, but not the only one inspired by Rock Band. My entire band formed through that game. Now, if only we were half as good at real music...

Sweeps always gave me fits, Aartyu. So you say that website really helped a lot with sweeps?

It teaches all the basic arpeggios; Major, Minor, Major7th, Minor7th, and some dominant and other arpeggios, as well as teaching you how to practice them efficiently.
I'm really not the kind of person to stand by these 'Online Lessons' kinda things, but this really does work wonderfully.
It offers 3 full days of trying it out to get a feel for it. Its worth checking out.

I haven't really been playing too much lately. I think I'm going to have to have surgery on my fretting hand to repair tendon damage on my pinkey. I think I have trigger finger or something. It sucks. I had a cortisone shot which helped it temporarily, but it got worse again.

Sorry to hear about that, Mandalore. :( To the main topic, I personally play electric bass guitar, Washburn Taurus: http://www.maxvolume.pl/MAXsklep/images/washburn/T12B.jpg
I've been playing for almost two years now, same guitar, two bands. My first band was a heavy metal band which wasn't successful to the least, or fun.
However, my current band is alternative and i've had a blast since i've been playing beside them. We currently have about six or so gigs coming in the next three months, a few where we'll be playing in front of 1000+ people.

I play the French Horn. Its only exciting if you geek out about classical music. -_-

I've played it a bit. It can do other stuff. Not much else, though. Have you ever played any other brass intruments?

I can play the trumpet and euphonium a bit, but not well enough that anyone would wish to listen to it. :P
But I did hook my horn up to an amp once... that was different... lol

Washburn's are pretty cool - that's what kind of guitar I had to start out on. In came in a set with a little Randall amp.

Well - if it's lasted this long with my 'hostile' performances on stage, I think i can give credit to Washburn. XD The only problem that I have had was my guitar strap screws falling out. Though with that, i may be fixing with construction glue. May not be that clean but, I can trust that the screw won't be popping out anytime soon on stage. XD
Along with bass (Which I still play.), I bought a Shecter Diamond Series flying-V Electric Guitar. A very nice guitar - excellent pick up's, 24 frett. I've been dabbling on guitar for a bit now - a good four months?
In my current band (Left the other one) I play Bass Guitar and backup sing. However, I do play 3rd guitar for a instrumental of ours. We play our own material, which is mostly alternative rock. However, we have metal instrumentals and almost country like acrostic songs. Once we end recording in September, i'll post our myspace so everyone can check us out. :)

Well here, go to www.myspace.com/htmidnight - We have two videos on there. They are okay quality - the best we can do at the moment. :) As I said though, we begin recording on Sunday. Once recording is finished, we'll have our songs up on there. :)
