"General Dodonna, this is Mandalore. The Sith forces have been defeated, thanks to Revan's Fury. Their estimated losses are roughly 15,000 including the approximately 10,000 ground troops that were obliterated by Revan's Fury's bombardment," Heimdall said to Dodonna.

"That is surely great news, Heimdall, but what of your own losses?" the General asked.

"We are not sure yet, General, we are still counting our dead," Heimdall replied.

Tooma entered the large doorway in the War Room and approached Mandalore.

"Mandalore, I am sorry to report that 62 of our vode have died in the defense of our base,"

"They are not dead Tooma, merely marching far away. Now go prepare a large pyre - we want to send off our vode and honor them for their sacrifice," Mandalore instructed.

"As you wish, Mandalore," Tooma said.

As Tooma exited the room, a group of Mandalorians that he had never seen approached Heimdall.

Among the group of Mandalorians was Sehtii Hathor. A bounty hunter with only 1 purpose in life. That purpose is to find the sith who took his father from him. By joining this group of mandalorians he hopes to find the skills and perhaps the resources to find that sith.

Back on the Republic ship, Raynor received a call from the bridge, upon arrival, he was told that General Dodanna was on the holo line. He accepted the call and the a image of the general appeared on top of the holo projector.
"Sir!." he said, and stood to attention

"Yes, Raynor, due to the aftermaths of the battle, I need you to go the the mandalorians and help them with their dead." Said General Dodanna.

"Sir, You know fully well that I would never complain but.... helping them with their dead? Isn't that a task any soldier or mandalorian could do?"

"I know, but still, we must show the mandalorians that we too care for them, because if it wasn't for them we probably would of lost this battle." replied the General.

"Then taking care of their dead is a political tool? I don't think that's fair."

"I don't think doing nothing after there men died for us is fair either."

"Well, if you put it that way, admiral, then I will go."

"Good, I already had your shuttle prepared.

Raynor departed the bridge and left to go the the shuttle.

In a secluded forest area on Talus. Tooma and Sehtii stack wood after wood on the Pyre for the mandalorians who were lost in a recent battle.

"Sorry about your vode" Sehtii says to Tooma

"They were great warriors but better friends,it was a great loss we suffered" Tooma replied "But we do not mourn the loss of our fallen vode, we honor them and battle on"

"I plan to honor my fallen vod....he was more than a comrade...r"

"Well honor him you shall. Our Mandalore is a great leader. We have become better warriors because of him and his training." Tooma said proudly

"I need more training. I need every ounce my body and mind can take in. I need to become a force so strong to be able to take on this sith...."

"A sith?"

"The vod I want to honor was a father figure who was killed by a Sith Dark Jedi. I have been in some battles myself over the course of my training and I have never seen a fast and furious foe like him." Sehtii says angry "I spent the last 2 years attempting to find out anything about him. Until recently I have found nothing but on a recent visit to Dantooine I found out he is the commander of a secret Sith Assault squad"

"A Secret Assault squad?!"

"Yes apparently they take out head figures who oppose the sith empire. I will never forget the day he left this scar on my chest. Eyes as red as the lava flow of Mustafar. I vowed from that day to pack him back for taking what meant most to me in this life."

"This explains a lot. Why when we tend to get a lead in this ongoing war with the Sith out head political leaders mysteriously die or vanish. I shall mention this to Mandalore however let us finish this pyre. Our vode shall arrive soon."

Landing in a crimson red shuttle, a tall, imposing figure exited the hatch. Clad in a suit of blood red armor, the figure walked across a field to where the assembly area for the funeral pyre was at.

Fierfek! Sindorin thought to himself. How could this terrible day happen. Why could he have not been present for that battle? He had fought over a dozen pitched fights before against the Sith, why had he been absent from this one?

Walking over, he nodded to Tooma, who gave him a salute, fist rapping across his chest in a sign of respect. Looking over to the newest recruit, he smiled inside his bucket.

" Welcome ner'vod. It is glad that you have joined us in our hour of need. There is much blood to be had, and many women to be gained. I trust this shall not be a problem?" Sindoprin said, chuckling at the last part. The women, indeed, were the best part. Women from all over the galaxy apparently had a sick fetish for Mandalorians. Though Mandalore would never allow the open practice of consorting with artuii women, he tolerated it to a degree.

"So...what do you think our next mission will be. I look forward to getting some payback on those sith." Mentions Sehtii

As Raynor docked his ship, he quickly got off and headed towards the bridge of the mandalorian ship. Once there, he saw the mandalore. He was a tall figure, you could tell that he had gone through countless battles, his face was covered by the legendary mask of the mandalore, that declared whoever wore it the leader of the mandalorians.

Raynor took a formal bow and said, "My ally, I was sent here to help with your fallen soldiers."

Rynech left the hangar bay as Norko left the base. He doubted that Nork would be able to pull anything up about his father, but he might as well try to get some information. Before, when he thought of his father, the person who had killed him seemed of very little importance. His buir was killed in a massive battle. There didn't seem to be any real chance that Rynech would ever discover the killer's identity.

Yet now, for some unknown reason, the lack of knowledge about his father's death nagged at him. He couldn't directly pursue the information himself; he had responsibilities to attend to and a Mandalore to serve. But if Norko was going to go off on a misguided quest for revenge, Ry would at least see if Nork could uncover anything about his buir.

Reaching Heimdall after being ordered to, he said jokingly,"A little late to the party, weren't you?"

"Roste, there is not much to be done. Go to the courtyard and help them prepare the pyre. We will celebrate the honor we have brought to the Mandalorian name today, but not before our vode are honored," Heimdall stated.

Heimdall then turned to Rynech, smirked, and joked, "I arrived just in time to save your sorry hide."

The two shared a laugh and then exited out to the courtyard where the mood was much more somber. The clansmen had been gathering the fallen and placing their armorless bodies on the pyre. It was customary for Mandalorian's to creamate their dead and keep their beskar'gam as a memorial.

Heimdall then approached Sehtii and Tooma and asked, "Have all of our vode been gathered?"

As Mand'alor approached, Sindorin offered him a fist across the chest in salute. Having waged a successful campaign that resulted in the Sith Route from the system, Sindorin ha returned only to see more of his vode dead at the hands of the Sitt

Timutu Aruetii worked silently beside his new comrades. He didn't know any of them well yet since he had just started working under Mandalore's vode a few weeks ago.

He had some mixed emotions while building the funeral pyre. There was a sadness for the lost comrades even if he didn't know them well. But more than that their was a deep respect and pride radiating from him for these men. He finally was working with real warriors. With other Mandalorians!

After Timutu's training had been completed, he spent many years doing contract work as an individual. This was a big change

Once the funeral pyre was finished Timutu was glad he still was wearing his helmet to hide the small smile that would have been misunderstood at this time and place. He finally was among men that were worth honoring in death.

He now just waited for Mandalore to decide what his next task was to be.

Heimdall sensed a disappointment in Sindorin's voice.

"Sindorin, do not worry. While you were not here to help defeat the Sith your mission was nonetheless crucial. You will be honored for your services; I hereby bestow on you the rank of Marauder," he said to Sindorin.

Mandalore realized that the pyre had been completed and the ceremony needed to commence. He greeted two new arrivals who introduced themselves as Sifo and Raynor and welcomed to the clan, giving them instructions on where their rooms were. He then climbed upon a platform that had been made extending from the pyre and began his speech:

"Vode! A great victory has been achieved and you have all brought great honor to the Mandalorians. I am honored to have fought beside all of you. However, we cannot rest for long; more enemies loom upon the horizon. We killed thousands of Sith this day, but billions more still are waiting in the wings. This fight will not be easy, but easy is not the way of the Mandalorian people. We are Mandalorians - we like a challenge!

Behind me lie sixty-two of our vode. They lie here, stripped of their beskar'gam, having made the ultimate sacrifice for honor and glory. They will never be forgotten.

As you know, two of our great warriors have left us to go fight their own fight. Champion Daxter Juno and Champion Norko Vonus are gone now, but we are hopeful that they will one day return and fight along side us once more. Marauder Triso Telex, please come to me, vod."

Triso Telex climbed the ladder up to the platform and stood infront of Mandalore and Champion Viatl.

"Triso, you have shown great commitment to this clan. It is my honor to bestow the rank of Champion upon you," Heimdall said.

A thunderous "Oya!," came from the few hundred Mandalorians listening to Mandalore from below.

"Rest up, vode," Heimdall continued, "For tomorrow is a new day, and we have no idea what challenges it may bring."

"That is a bit of a personal story, Kallor, but I will tell you." Heimdall continued, "I was once a celebrated hero of the Surtr clan - many people thought that I may one day may succeed Antoan, my clan's Warchief, but my rival Jaskr had other ideas."

Heimdall paused for a moment. The events he was discussing with Kallor clearly evoked painful memories.

"Jaskr was an ignorant fool. He never thought before he started firing his blaster, and his lust for power was second to none. He was unhappy with the way Antoan was running the clan, so he murdered him. He had converted a large number of the clans youth into following him. They murdered Antoan in his sleep, a cowardly act that no TRUE Mandalorian would ever think of. Mandalorians used believe in honor, but Jaskr does not.

I heard the noise and reached for my blasters, but it was no use. Before I could reach them, several of Jaskr's men were already in my room and had their sights trained on me. They hit me with their stun batons and I was out. When I woke up I was imprisioned, surrounded by the people who I once called my vode. Jaskr had ordered my execution the next day. Fortunately that never came to pass. Talron escaped capture and came to help free me. We came to Talus, a place where I thought we could avoid detection while we contacted other clans, and began construction on our base. Unfortunately, we did not avoid detection for long.

Just as I had suspected, Jaskr aligned himself with the Sith and seeks the same thing as I do; to unite the Mandalorians. Both the Sith and the Republic know what a valueable ally the Mandalorians would be, which is why the Sith are aiding Jaskr and the Republic is aiding us. There is one key difference between the two, however; the Sith will betray the Mandalorians the first chance they get. This is why we cannot join this, and why we must destroy them."

Kallor nodded, seeming satisfied the answer. Heimdall then turned his attention to a Jedi, whose patience seemed to be wearing thin.

"Oya, vod! I am Mandalore Heimdall Surtr. I have noticed that you have been waiting to talk to me. What is it that I can help you with?"

Composing himself, he said, "Greeting Mandalore, I have come on behalf of the Jedi Order and the Republic. I was sent here in order to not only improve relations one of our most valuable allies, but assist them with their brothers who need to make their last march." He was careful not to use the word dead, or fallen, or anything that referred to that. Raynor was well learned when it came to Mandalorians, honor and battle meant everything. He knew the Mandalorian traditions fairly well, or rather, well enough to not mess with the leader of the whole culture.

"The Bakuran system produces a large amount of the repulsorlift technology for the Sith Army. We could...redistribute some of their assets with a small team. After that, we head to the outer rim to sieze some weapons convoys." Sindorin said, briefing the newest member of the clan.

Being a former Jedi himself, Sindorin knew that this particular vod would likely be using the Force in their mission. Sindorin had chosen long ago to reject the use of the Force, deeming it too unstable and too powerful for mere mortals to wield. Only time would tell if Sifo could handle such a burden.

Timutu knew the reprimand was coming. It was well deserved to. He had got used to his mercenary lifestyle that allowed him to be a little more free with his speech. Knowing he was in the wrong, Timutu felt no anger or resentment for the admonishment from his superior.

"Understood sir." Timutu replied respectfully.

He figured a short and to the point response was best so as not to distract Rynech further from whatever was going on. Timutu's past kept him from just heading back to his room though. If there might be trouble, he had to be ready for it. Now he just had to wait for word one way or the other.

Rynech Viatl

Rynech heard the voice of a stranger over the comm, and it was referencing a conversation over an entirely different comm, which made Rynech angry. It meant that whoever this person was, they could listen in on any number of the CoM's comms, which meant their private conversations weren't private any longer.

"This is Rynech Viatl of the Champions of Mandalore. I demand to be told who you are, where you are, and what you are doing here."

Norko

*The voice reacted with a little bit of sarcasm*

"well, if you look outside the hangar bay shield you'll see a small red and object black closing in on your base on a skimboard, you already know who I am and I'm here to visit some old Vode and friends and off course my leader, Heimdall Surtr. I have a report to make to our humble warleader and by the way, I'm glad to hear you voice too, Rynech... please lower the shield, Norko's back in town"

*The comm turns silent again*

Rynech then recognized the voice of his vode, Norko, but he wasn't taking any chances. Norko's armor hadn't been red and black before, but now it was. Plus, you would have thought Norko would have contacted them before he decided to float into range of the base's sensors on a skimboard. There was pretty advanced voice-mimicking technology that had been developed, and it was Rynech's job to make sure his vode were safe.

"I'm going out to the front to meet with him. Have snipers covering me just in case."

Leaving the base through the front gate, Rynech said to Norko as he came floating in,"Sorry, Nork, but we need you to take off your helmet. Safety precautions, I'm afraid. Need to know that you're really you."

*Nork stepped off of his skimboard and put off his helmet, the face of the man could be seen...

his long black hair waving in the nights' wind and his bright blue eyes watching Rynech*

"Do I pass the audition?"

*Nork showed his right cybernetic arm and silently waited, he looked around the base' building seeing snipers on the roof*

"great security measures, I have to give you credit"

Rynech chuckled and said,"You can't blame me for being careful." Holding out an arm for Norko to grasp, the traditional Mando greeting, he said,"Maybe you'd like to give us a little more forewarning next time before you rise from the lake on a skimboard wearing completely different armor than the set you were wearing the last time you were here."

Despite the speech Rynech had made about not giving Norko a warm welcome should he return, he found that he couldn't help but be happy that his vod had returned.

*Nork smiled and laughed with madness and grabbed Rynech's arm and gave a friendly headbutt, he then grabbed his skimboard and said with a more serious look*

"I have some news for you, you might want to hear it... in a place where we can talk in private"

*Nork looked serious, with a little but of a mad look in his eyes... the madness since the loss of his arm seemed to be still around*

**O.O.C. Details :p**

Rynech laughed as he returned Norko's headbutt, but his face, which was obscured behind his helmet, turned to seriousness at the mention of news specifically for Rynech. News for him meant only one thing, and that was that Nork had found information about Ry's father. He hadn't thought that Nork would actually find anything; Rynech had looked for information and had found nothing, so it either meant Norko had either luckily stumbled upon the info or that he had looked a lot harder than he had.

Either way, info was info. Turning to call his snipers off, he saw that they were no longer there. It seemed that as soon as Rynech had started talking to Nork, they had left. Good. They had more important things to do now that they had resolved that Norko was, indeed, Norko.

"Alright, we'll go to my barracks and speak in private about the matter."

*Nork walked through the base with Rynech, slowly heading for Rynech's quarters, when there Nork mentioned to Rynech that his companion Lorn Toldan was still in orbit awaiting clearance to enter the base. after that Nork sat down in one of the chairs in the champions' private quarters and looked around, after Rynech sat down himself he slowly started talking*

"I've found a few things that might be of interest in your crusade against the one who killed your father... one night I was walking around the lower levels of Coruscant, very nasty place, full of criminal scum and di'kuts."

*Nork was silent for a moment and after taking some breath he continued*

"a few hours after I walked into a cantina to have a drink, I saw a few men in black robes talking about what their 'Master' had done to a Mandalorian some years ago, the things I heard were ugly and nasty and after they drank their jawa juice they laughed and said 'we should return back to korriban, our master will want to hear what we did with that senator'."

"at that moment I got a lot more interested in them, as I followed them from shadow to shadow they talked in more detail about the killing of the mandalorian. one of them said with a funny laugh 'the man was named cartus viatl, what kind of weird name is that, I wonder what the others carry on their tags'..."

*Nork turned silent again, he stood up and picked a can of corellian ale from the cooling unit, sat down again and continued*

"at that moment I threw a stun grenade in the middle of 'em and all three of them were blinded for thirty seconds, I killed two of them and subdued the last one for interrogation.... he told me that his master killed the Mandalorian named Cartus Viatl and that I'll be next, I did also manage to get the rank of his master out of 'em and believe me, this one's nasty. It's a Sith Lord and according to his apprentice one of the very best in the whole sith empire. he didn't manage to give me a name, because he killed himself shortly after that question, probably knowing that his master would if he discovered this.... This is all I know. but I do know that you'll need back-up in order to take this sith lord down"

*Nork then took a sip of his Corellian ale and looked at Rynech, he threw his empty can into the trash-compactor and started cleaning his heavy blaster pistol, waiting for Rynech's response*

Lorn Toldan
02-05-2009, 08:01 PM
Lorn was still above the planet surface. No-one had responded to his calls so he decided to contact Norko:

''Nork, have you made your big spectacular entrance yet? You know, space is a cold place. Mind if I land somewhere?''

Norko
02-06-2009, 07:04 AM
*Nork replied with his wrist-mounted commlink to lorn*

"you may land, Lorn. I think they can use a man like you... Norko out"

*Nork than contacted the control room*

"this is Marauder Norko Vonus, please allow my ship with my companion to pass the shield into the hangar bay"

*Nork then looked at Rynech and still awaited a reply*

Rynech was angered by the news. Eleven years. It had been eleven years since his father had been killed, and this Sith scum was still gloating about it. He was going to find this Sith Lord and make him pay; his father deserved that much. Cartus was jatne'buir, and no Sith Lord was going to spit on his father's good name. Ke nu jurkad Viatl. Don't mess with a Viatl.

"Do not spare me the details, Norko. What did he do to my fa-"

"This is Heimdall Surtr. All clansmen are to report to the war room immediately. Revan's Fury is under attack."

Ry sighed and said,"We'll never get a rest. Alright, we'll continue this discussion later, we've got a Republic Flagship to defend."

"There's no greater thing than battles at home"
