Nice little blog about the shape SWTOR's gonna take, but it seems more like a fluff piece than anything substantial. Seems like they put more effort in the April Fools class than they did the Friday update. :/

I think it really conforts the player base that Bioware isn't just doing a Copy&Paste of other games... but a unique experience. And some of our vode are quite interested in the crafting aspect of MMOs, I think this settles the question to some degree. They are going to try and have a GOOD crafting system that players can focus on, and not just do it as a second talent...

This is what I posted up:

Even though he did not mention the Role Playing aspect of the game, I think this will be addressed at a later date. Having a rock solid community always means having a good and welcoming bunch of fans of the game to bring in newbies and a community will ALWAYS expand on the story of the game. From being able to create events that span the whole server to groups that fight significant and memorable battles and scenes in the game.

The community is what makes an MMO become alive and gives it the spark that players will turn into radiant beacons that will call out to more people.

Oh and +1 for Crafting. I'm not a huge fan, but as a player who always seeks out the best about, it provides a very interesting bond of Client/Crafter. It develops the social aspect of a game to a new degree. Unlike a "Auction House" type of interface which takes out that interaction you can have with your favorite crafters. That something that SWG did very well. It allowed Crafters to personalize their shops. It gave them an identity to potential clients which never ceased to amaze.

I'm hyped... but I still want more Mandalorian content X)

WHile it Was a small update it has gotten me excited as well. I usually play fairly dedicated crafters in games and it looks like I will have the chance to in this game as well.

I also like the first part of the blog on them trying to find a middle ground between an open world and game world.

I'm liking what I hear about the game/world compromise they're shooting for - this is what I want to see in an mmo.

SWG used to have an excellent place for crafters in their game - with an almost purely player driven economy - and it worked really well to build a sense of community; I hope to see something like that again.

I'm actually stoked for crafting. in SWG i was a huge crafter, which made me a billionaire. I always enjoyed it when people i had never met would come into my shop and have conversations with them. I don't know if i'll pursue that path in this game.

As much as I liked the new update, it feels like stuff I already know. I already know BioWare is gonna kick ass on most every aspect of swtor, so I don't need to be reminded how they plan to deliver. Right now I want to see what they WILL deliver.

Ya wasn't some big thing, but I do like that they talked about crafting. Its never something Ive done and I'm definitely interested in trying it out in TOR.

I'm still disappointed that there has been like no coverage of species at all...
