There's a site (http://www.game.co.uk/PC/%7Er342342/Star-Wars-The-Old-Republic/?s=star%20wars) that lists the release date as being September 24, 2010 (342 days from today). I doubt it's right, first, because I think it will come out earlier than that since they're getting beta testers, second, because I doubt BioWare would have told them the release date if it really was that far away, and third, because 98% of the time when a site gets a release date before the company announces it's wrong. But it is possible.

I would love the game to come out sooner, I really would, but that release date sounds reasonable to me.

I was really hoping Spring of 2010 at the latest. I don't think that they know however, as there are other more prominent sites that would likely be given that information sooner.

They could probably be ready by Spring. I think when it actually gets released depends on what LucasArts/BioWare/EA's strategy is to steal as many WoW players away as possible. Either release before the next WoW expansion and head them off, or a while afterwards after that expansion becomes boring as well. Doubt would be anywhere around the same timeframe.

They said they only want to go to E3 once, so that implies they want to release before June next year. Also, beta testing generally starts 1-2 months after they accept applications, and the game generally comes only a few months after that.

Q2 2010 is when I expect it to come out but I have a feeling it will get pushed untill early Q3. Closed Beta means nothing for an mmo that is created from scratch, when there is something announced about Open Beta then we can expect that.

Hopefully it'll come out late 2010. Last thing I want is for the game to feel rushed.
