View Full Version : Trials on Dxun...
Virik

Virik gathered his blaster rifle as they landed, it had gone relatively smooth. Whether they had been detected or not could not be entirely certain. "Come on...what was your name again?" He said looking out into the forest, "I am Virik," he said not seeing any immediate signs of danger. He had a small satchel on his shoulder filled with some gear that might be helpful. (Heimdail -sp- said we can do what ever for Dxun, so I have an idea if you don't mind me "DMing" this rp.)

:)OOC: Sure I don’t mind at all dude as long as you dont mind me being a wise-ass on this trip
Jak looked at the togruta deeply
“ My name is Jak Covell Virik, but you can call me Jak”
Jak looked at the Togruta’s blaster rifle and smiled wryly and Ignited his Indigo blue lightsaber
“Hey, ever see one of these before?” Jak said smugly as he waved the deep blue blade around the ship
“I got a spare one in emerald green on my ship too”
Jak laughed obviously just kidding
Virik
12-23-2008, 10:25 AM
(I don't mind wise asses, Virik however does. So be warned, and I hope if you get on his bad side you know not to take things personally.)
Looking over to the light saber, Virik gave a sigh, "You are a little proud of such a simple weapon...yes of coarse I have seen one before... Are you a Jedi or a kid with a new toy? We have a job to do. And we aren't going to be doing anything of great importance by watching from the woods, so I called in a favor...I got us some ID codes so we can pose as Sith. You will need to leave the light saber behind."
"Reminds me," he said pointing to the uniform he had put on just recently, "There are others in the back of the ship. Find one your size. A few weapons, but not many. Blasters I think mostly."
Jak Covell
12-23-2008, 10:31 AM
(LOL)
Jak frowned, he liked to be endorsed not scorned then jak sighed
“Fine then Darth Kill-Joy I’ll get a uniform and put the saber away”
Jak walked to the end of the ship and put on the uncomfortable uniform
“Hey what if I take the saber and say I’m a dark Jedi?”
It was worth a try, Jak spent days crafting the “simple weapon”
Virik
12-23-2008, 10:36 AM
"That would only bring suspicion and bring unnecessary complications. Dark Jedi aren't rare...but they are noticed much more than a simple Sith Officer. You are ranked below me," he said handing over the ID. "You are an intelligence officer, as am I. My name is Vosk, and you will go by Luther. And that is not an argument...the names are already on the ID and no point in changing them."
"I don't know if you have ever done any work like this before, but don't draw attention to yourself, and don't ask too many questions, follow my lead if you don't know how to act like a Sith. I have worked for Hutt's so I have had my fair amount of work infiltrating Sith bases."
Jak Covell
12-23-2008, 10:41 AM
Jak eyed the card and said
“Isn’t a Luther a type of sandwich? Never mind I’ll do as you say “Sir” ”
Jak put the card in his rear pocket and spoke
“So let’s go over the mission again I need to be re-briefed, Mandalore didn’t tell me much”
Virik
12-23-2008, 10:48 AM
Giving an annoyed look at the jokes, "I don't mind jokes, but I...and you...will die if this gets fucked up in any way. Not sure if you know, but Mandalorian's and Sith aren't very kind to spies.
"First, fix your uniform, id in front breast pocket. Officers are picky with their uniforms so you should look it, everything must be in it's proper place. We are going to travel to a nearby base. I have a path on it on my data pad. The Mandalorian's are training Sith soldiers, and we are here to check up on it. We are reporting to a 'classified source,' and our landing zone is classified as well.
"Basically, if they pry too much, it is classified, but don't over do it. Talk little, look much. We need to see if they are organizing any attacks. I have questions thought out so we can find out such information. I want you to keep an eye out for anything particularly out of the ordinary and stay by my side.
"You are Second Lieutenant Luther Iben, and I am First Lieutenant Vosk Naztak. We are Intelligence Officers, part of a classified project. Any questions?"
Jak Covell
12-23-2008, 10:53 AM
Jak rolled his eyes and said
“Very well then commander, ID in front Talk little, look big and put on a healthy smile”
Jak looked gloomy but then a sparkle went in to his eyes
“Wait who is this ‘source’ of yours this whole thing is almost too put together… Y’know what? I don’t even care now, lets go”
Virik
12-23-2008, 10:57 AM
"A Hutt, and that is all you need to know. She is more invested in the Republic than most in the galaxy so don't worry your head about her...Mandalore is the only one I might be willing to allow to meet with her." He said as he simply shrugged.
"Do you have your weapons? And you left that lightsaber behind yes?" He asked heading into the woods keeping an eye out for the creatures that lived there, following the path on his datapad.
Jak Covell
12-23-2008, 11:02 AM
“What weapons sir? I’m just an official, what do I know of fighting.”
Jak said putting on his best coruscanti accent
“But seriously though I put the saber in the back and I have my hold-out blaster on me”
Jak paused then added
“I’ll keep an eye out, It’s always good to have a Jedi’s senses”
Virik
12-23-2008, 11:10 AM
"Yes I am sure," he said rolling his eyes about the Jedi senses. "And officers know how to fight. Just keep the blaster ready...creatures here are not friendly."
The trip through the forests is shockingly non-eventful, an encampment of Mandalorian's is in a small clearing, walls and defenses obscuring the camp, guards atop the wall.
Virik goes up to the gate as the guards watch them, their weapons ready.
"Hold it right there. Where did you come from Sith? Didn't see no ship land," said the Mando sounding suspicious. The Mando was the only mandalorian on the wall, the rest were Sith soldiers.
"I am First Lieutenant Vosk Naztak, and this is Second Lieutenant Luther Iben." He drew out his ID holding it up, "You can verify if you wish. We are here to examine the base, our ID's give us authorization." He came up to the gate where the mandalorian came down to, opening it up to allow them in.
He took their ID's scanning them. "Classified?" He said suspiciously.
"That is right," Virik said with a nod. "Luther, I want you to examine the hangers, report to me after, I will be examining the troops in training."
Jak Covell
12-23-2008, 11:15 AM
“Roger that Sir, I’ll examine the Hangars.” Jak said perfectly as a subordinate
Jak walked off with a troop entourage walking in toe with each other
Jak sighed, he knew he’d be stuck with gully work but that’s fine, no need to go guns a blazing…not yet anyway
Jak arrived at the hangars filled with different ships
Virik
12-23-2008, 11:19 AM
The hanger contained a few Basilisk's but, the majority of ships in the fairly large hanger were transports, likely to get the troops in training up to the few capital ships in orbit, ones that they had avoided when they reached Dxun.
In total, about 30 transports, each able to hold 20 soldiers sat there, maintenance officers going about the routine repairs. Besides the Basilisk's and transports a few escort fighters sat beside them
Jak Covell
12-23-2008, 11:23 AM
Jak looked at the freighters
‘How odd…’ Jak thought to himself
“Very respectable” Jak said quietly to avoid suspicion
The odd thing about the scene was that there was something that struck him hard in his gut something out of place.
Virik
12-23-2008, 11:28 AM
One of the soldiers, the Sergeant of the group by the look of his rank -if Jak knew the insignia- stepped forward, "Is there anything else you would like to see sir?" He asked as he looked out to where Jak was looking.
Jak Covell
12-23-2008, 11:31 AM
Jak was tempted to say ‘Secret Plans’ but instead said
“Yes my good sir is there a miniscule chance I would be able to speak to your CO about the quality of the ships”
Jak knew that if he could be kind and courteous to the CO he might be able to subliminally extract information while making small talk
Virik
12-23-2008, 11:39 AM
"You probably want the maintenance officer in charge of the ships sir, he would know more. The CO is busy, rarely leaves the HQ." He said and pointed to the Maintenance Officer, "That is Lieutenant Jan-Do, he is your best bet."
Jak Covell
12-23-2008, 11:42 AM
Jak frowned, what a backfire he thought, nevertheless he walked over to Jan-Do and said
“2nd Lieutenant Luther sir and you must be Lieutenant Jan-Do”
Jak and Jan shook hands and Jak said
“So about your ships” Jak said stiffly
Virik
12-23-2008, 11:45 AM
Jan-Do gave him a confused look, looking at information on his data-pad as his mechanics worked. "What about them? And...who are you?" He said looking confused. "You aren't assigned to this base, and you certainly aren't one of my men..."
He looked between the mechanics, the sith soldiers, and Jak.
Jak Covell
12-23-2008, 11:48 AM
Jak put on the most confused angered face he could make
“Sir I have just told you who I am and I came here on a classified trip, and I was wondering if you had the model frames and ID codes for these ships, they look in good shape.”
Jak swallowed and hoped the man was diplomatic
Virik
12-23-2008, 11:51 AM
"You told me a name, nothing more. And I am not about to just give you information. 'Classified trip'? What are you talking about? I have heard of no such thing."
Jak Covell
12-23-2008, 11:55 AM
Jak entered his turnabout mode, but he had a plan
“Sir I am here on the classified trip 200042097.stu, did you not get the memo!? Or are you a little late in the paper work?”
Jak hoped he Persuaded/intimidated the man
Virik
12-23-2008, 11:57 AM
He narrowed his eyes, "I will not have some fool waste my time," he said dismissively looking back down at his datapad looking annoyed.
Jak Covell
12-23-2008, 12:00 PM
Jak knew Jan could've had the sith take him away at any moment so Jak left and scoffed at Jan once more as he walked away like a snoot.
Jak was going to head back to Virik as it was obvious that the most that was here was a few drop ships and a few freighters...
Virik
12-23-2008, 12:02 PM
Virik was talking to one of the mandalorian's as he looked on at nearly a hundred Sith being trained by small groups of mando's. He looked over to Jak for a moment before excusing himself.
"Well?" He asked in a low voice coming nearer.
Jak Covell
12-23-2008, 12:07 PM
“Greetings 1st Lieutenant May I speak to you in private for a moment” Jak said respectfully
Jak waved the guards away with his hand
“Virik, the Hangars seem pretty clean the only thing off there is an especially intolerant CO”
Jak paused and added
“I think if we can somehow meet the Leader here, I can force persuade him to tell us everything”
Virik
12-23-2008, 12:10 PM
"One...I didn't ask if it was 'dirty' I asked you to look what was there and find what information you could gather. Two...we are not to draw too much attention to ourself, especially demanding an unnecessary audience with the officer of the base. And three, you are an idiot for even suggesting that...do you think? Officers and specialists are often trained to resist the force," Virik snarled with contempt, "Are you honestly a Jedi, or did you just force adept who goes around with a lightsaber pretending?" He said looking annoyed.
Jak Covell
12-23-2008, 12:17 PM
Jak looked very pissed off at Virik’s Statement and said
“Ok you cantina diva, I did the best I could but all I could find out was that technicians here are total jack-asses and that I can’t probe them for crap. Nextly I’ll have you know I AM a jedi and for you to judge me is just where I have to draw the line, now just so I don’t have to be yelled at again I’ll let YOU think of what to do now!"
Jak breathed in and out and calmed down
Virik
12-23-2008, 12:28 PM
Virik looked back to make sure Jak wasn't overheard before looking back to him, "You are a true fool," he said simply, not looking pleased as he turned back to the Mando officer training the soldiers.
"How many troops do you have here again? Being trained by mandalorian's specifically."
"Right now, fifteen hundred. Every three months groups of five hundred are shuttled off planet for what ever duties they are assigned to, replaced by another five hundred." He said watching the soldiers.
Virik nodded, "Good, and you said these ones are nearly done with their training?"
"Yes, this is only a fifth of the group but yes. Why, is who ever you serve the one who is assigning them."
Virik put on a smile, "I am not at liberty to say. But I am very interested in the training schedual to say the least. Also, I have heard of a Mandalorian faction that split off during the war that is still around. They are still hidden somewhere in the galaxy are they not?"
The mandalorian scowled, "...yes, for now."
"For now?" Virik asked arching an eyebrow. "Have you found them then?"
"We believe so, but the traitors will be taken care of soon. We are training other Sith soldiers on other bases here on Dxun as you might no. One base produces soldiers Mandalore himself commands...if you understand my meaning."
"Yes...sith cannon fodder," Virik said softly. "Well that should be all for now, I may be back to see the rest of the soldiers," he said turning motioning Jak to follow, leaving the base and heading toward the ship.
"...I assume you were capable of counting the ships?"
Jak Covell
12-23-2008, 12:33 PM
Jak stared in awe at the way Virik probed the man’s mind and persuaded him to talk, a form of affect mind? Never mind that.
Jak heard virik ask for the number of ships to which Jak replied
“30 transports for about 15-20, they also have a few fighters and basilisk war droids”
Jak frowned things were not looking up for the champions…
:(
Jak Covell
12-23-2008, 12:35 PM
This should be nothing a corellian pilot and a sqaud cant fix Jak thought to himself
Virik
12-23-2008, 12:36 PM
Virik nodded, "That fits...sadly..." he said getting lost in thought for a moment. "What did you do to make the engineer officer not cooperate with you?" Virik asked after a moment as they reached the woods, taking his rifle out.
Jak Covell
12-23-2008, 12:40 PM
“Well I tried to confuse him by making an absurd code for the operation, and then I tried to make him think he lost the paperwork. To be quite frank, I believe you were right about there being training against mind tricks.”
Jak looked humbled and then added
“On the way back we need to stop near Coruscant and get my ship, Ok Virik?”
Jak laughed and said
“I would hate to miss a good old republic to sith dogfight”
Virik
12-23-2008, 12:45 PM
Virik sighed, "There is training for those with out the force to resist it...so don't use the force unless you have to, and think it will work. Second, don't tell lies when you can't back them up with apparent 'proof' and when it is an obvious lie. What you did was stupid. I told you what to say, that you were here on a classified mission, and that your ID had proof that you had clearance...you did show him your ID...didn't you?" Virik asked sternly.
Jak Covell
12-23-2008, 12:49 PM
“HOLY CRAP I FORGOT!!!!”
Jak yelled
“Well ummm its not like I y-y’know well ummmm”
Jak sounded like a trapped animal
Virik
12-23-2008, 12:54 PM
"You are a fool...if I tell you once I will tell you a hundred times that you are one. You asked what the plan was, I told you, and you couldn't remember the simplest of details..." he said moving through the brush of the forest. "I tell you things because they are important...because if you screw up...or even if I do...we both could be dead for it. If that officer cared enough he could have caused us a great deal of trouble with out even trying."
Virik stopped and looked at Jak. "Do you know what we are in? We are in a war little 'Jedi'. This is not a game, this is not a joke, this is war. One must be wise, one must be mindful, and one must listen to simple instructions! Surely this sounds like something you might have heard in your training! Think before you do, because if you don't it might be the last thing you do, and it might bring about the end of those you call friends. You might hate me for scolding you, but you are a hazard to those around you in your current state. The Champions will not thank you for bringing them harm, I won't thank you for bringing me harm. Think." He said turning back down the path his data pad gave him.
Jak Covell
12-23-2008, 01:00 PM
Jak looked humbled
“Listen I know it’s a war Virik, I’ve lost friends, family and a great mentor of mine. I grief everyday and I still remember the better times. Listen I’m not the best soldier ever but I will learn my friend, and yes you may not necessarily view me as a friend now I will always view you as a comrade. C’mon all this sentimental bullshit is getting the best of me, I just want to get my ship and meet up on Talus."
Jak paused and said
"I think it would be so funny if we sent the sith our fake ID's"
Jak laughed and followed Virik
Virik
12-23-2008, 01:03 PM
"You tell me of the suffering this war has brought you, then you suggest to play a joke on the sith? You should stick to thinking on those who you have lost...might show you what awaits you if you decide to play a foolish joke like that." He said as he reached where the ship was.
Or...where the ship should have been.
Jak Covell
12-23-2008, 01:06 PM
Jak disliked Virik’s sense of humor, but then he noticed the landing area of where the ship was…
“Virik, if this is where the ship was supposed to be…ill kill you…I SPENT 5 DAYS IN A CAVE MAKING THAT ****ING LIGHTSABER! AND ALL MY CREDITS WERE IN MY ROBES!!!”
Virik
12-23-2008, 01:09 PM
Virik looked to the empty bit of space before them. There were no signs of battle, but the ship was most certainly gone. He pulled out a comlink but got no reply.
He put a hand to his head trying to think, "Stop shouting! Not like you deserved that lightsaber you buffoon...someone might have taken offense at you masquerading as a Jedi," he said with a /touch/ of sarcasm.
"Damn...we need a ship now..." he sighed. "We have to return to the Sith base."
Jak Covell
12-23-2008, 01:11 PM
Jak knew what was coming…
“I’ll let that sarcasm slide but if your proposing that we go guns a blazing into enemy territory…we better get a Corellian ship, you ready Virik?
Virik
12-23-2008, 01:19 PM
Virik, now looking furious as never before, rounded on the human. "I ABSOLUTELY REFUSE TO BELIEVE /YOU/ ARE A JEDI! Do you have any common sense! Any intelligence of any form! That is a base of MANDALORIAN'S and SITH SPECIAL FORCES! You are an inept Jedi, and I don't have the sort of ego to even think what you suggested to be possible!
"There are fifteen hundred Sith soldiers, give or take, at that base, plus probably fifty to a hundred Mandalorian's. Why would you even suggest us to go in 'guns a blazing?'" He said unable to comprehend how he ended up with this Jedi. "We are dressed as /sith/, we have sith ID codes, we are high ranking Military Intelligence Officers in their eyes, who have special privileges due to said ID codes. How in the force could you even suggest something as idiotic as just rushing in and stealing a ship?"
Virik just suddenly was lost for words, sitting at the base of a tree with a hand on his head, wondering why the force would deem it necessary for him to cross paths with this particular Jedi.
Jak Covell
12-23-2008, 01:23 PM
Jak laughed
“Virik you are going to have such a heart attack it’s not even funny, I was just making a jest don’t make a big deal. How about we masquerade as sith once more and get a ship the less suicidal way?”
Virik
12-23-2008, 01:28 PM
He simply looked up at Jak for a few minutes before allowing himself to speak. "No more jokes...no more jokes ever around me again. So far, you have either 'joked' or screwed up...enough. I have told you already, this. is. not. a. joke. nor. a. game. Be serious. Joking is fine, when it is done at the right time. This is not the time.
"Of coarse we are going to go in as Sith and requisition one of their ships. That is the only logical solution..." he said not moving for a bit more, finally standing taking a deep breath, turning back the way they came.
Jak Covell
12-23-2008, 01:31 PM
Jak frowned at the togruta
“Ok lets discuss a plan while were walking through the woods”
Jak sighed but then chuckled
“Unless you think it’s ‘Illogical’ sir.”
Virik
12-23-2008, 01:33 PM
Virik frowned at him. "Plan: Go in. Go to hangar. Get a fighter, likely they have ones with two seats. If not, a transport. Which ever has a hyperdrive. We will say we need it because our transport was recalled for reasons we cannot disclose." He said as he walked slowly wondering where his pilot went, quite annoyed at the pilot.
Jak Covell
12-23-2008, 01:39 PM
"Lets go for it"
Virik
12-23-2008, 01:42 PM
Virik got back to the base, the guards letting them in no problem this time as he lead them to the hangar.
Jan'Do looked to Jak, "I said leave once already didn't I?" He asked looking to Virik for a moment, but back to Jak.
"Oh? Why is that Luther?" He asked, giving Jak a look as if to say, 'don't screw this up.'
Jak Covell
12-23-2008, 01:49 PM
Jak gulped and then spoke to Jan
“Hey we need a ship ours got recalled because of a bad uh motivator core so now we would very much need a ship sir, with a hyper drive of course”
Jak smiled and wished to every god it would work
Virik
12-23-2008, 01:57 PM
Jak gulped and then spoke to Jan
“Hey we need a ship ours got recalled because of a bad uh motivator core so now we would very much need a ship sir, with a hyper drive of course”
Jak smiled and wished to every god it would work
Virik closed his eyes a bit frustrated. "Step back," he said looking to Jak. He pulled out his ID. "I am sorry for him...he told me about before, his family made a hefty donation so he...I am sorry to say...got promoted easily and has burdened me for some time. This will clear any concern you have...but yes, we need a ship with a hyperdrive." He said as the man frowned at both checking the ID.
He finally nodded, "Very well...we have a few long range fighters stored away, we can have them ready for you in thirty minutes?" He asked, to which Virik nodded.
Thirty minutes later they were boarding single seater fighters, astrodroids to help navigate.
Jak Covell
12-23-2008, 02:04 PM
Jak laughed and called virik on the com
"Ready for lift off 'Friend'"
Jak waited and added
"Or are you gonna go get your ship back"
Virik
12-23-2008, 02:06 PM
"Yes, I will be returning to the capital...best leave Sith uniforms on...seeing as we are in Sith ships and going to a Sith held planet..." he said wondering if Jak would make it back alive.
Jak Covell
12-23-2008, 02:10 PM
“You mean coruscant? Ok that’s fine sir lemme just get my snacks out and turn on autopilot”
Jak said obnoxiously
Virik
12-23-2008, 02:11 PM
"That would be the capital..." he said as he flew past the capital ships.
Jak Covell
12-23-2008, 02:42 PM
"Wow you ass I was just...whatever lets just go to my ship change our attire and get the hell out of here"
Jak said Impatiently
Virik
12-23-2008, 02:44 PM
"Wrong, I am going to get /my/ ship, and have this taken to my friend. You will wait for me and we will fly together in our own ships," he said before going into hyperspace. (To Coruscant)
Jak Covell
12-23-2008, 02:46 PM
Jak stopped dramatically and said
"Ugh y'know what? I'm going to change, send a message via hologram to Talus and report"
Jak Covell
12-23-2008, 02:58 PM
Jak sighed "I hope that we do make it, Virik deserves it. Maybe a bit more than I do."
Virik
12-23-2008, 03:10 PM
(Closed, continued in Coruscant at a later time so I can get rest)
Jak Covell
12-23-2008, 03:10 PM
Jak and Virik Zalaak landed on Coruscant, Virik went off to run some "Errands"
where as Jak Covell returned to his ship and changed into a Brown Jumpsuit with a brown cloak and picked up his spare Emerald Green Lightsaber which he made on his trip to Coruscant prior to the meeting in the bar.
Jak hoped he would make it in to the guild he attempted to put on a tough face to the mandalorians but he was in truth as green as can be.
Jak opened up his crate and pulled out a holopad and sent a recording to Talus,
"Greetings Comrades." Jak paused for dramatic effect.
"It is I Jak Covell, Virik Zalaak and I have some bad news. The sith have discovered our location I'll let Virik tell you the rest when we get there"
Jak squrimed he hoped he said right, or Virik would kill him.
