Apparently part of the beta contract implies some sort of micro-transaction based system. I really hope they don't do that. Here's (http://darthhater.com/2009/09/30/could-tor-have-bioware-bucks/) a link explaining it.

If this turns out to be a micro game, I may actually not end up playing it. I can't stand micro transaction games.

I hope not. I think advancement in the game should be about time dedicated to the game, not who has the most money in real life. However, it is a bit ambiguous, so I'm not going to pass judgement yet.

Agreed. You're already paying a monthly fee for their services, you shouldn't have to pay anything more.

Its not just that, its also that I'm a firm believer in working for what you get, and somebody being able to blow through the game because they can pay the money IRL instead of devoting time to it just pisses me off in general.

That's very true, and something that I agree with completely. But this is a feature that's mostly prevalent in F2P games. If players are paying 15$ a month, there is no good reason for Bioware to revert to microtransactions for profit.
I'm not made of money and I'm barely going to be able to make those monthly payments and it'd be really nice if I didn't have to throw even more money at the game to keep up with other players.

With the amount of time BioWare has said they've made in putting together a story, I doubt they're going to cheapen it with a traditional microtransaction system.

Maybe they mean something like custom cosmetic items or services like WoW has. I bet that the idea was planted by lucasarts, reguardless of what bioware wants they will do what the publisher tells them to do.

And I think this is what it comes down to. I have absolute faith in Bioware to do what is best for the game, but they only have so much say - once Lucu$ Art$ gets involved there is going to be some digging for money ... it is what they're good at -- and I always say 'perfect what you're good at'. (I ALWAYS say that, ask anyone! ... mostly ... mostly)

what could they possibly need a microtransaction system for anyways? From everything we have seen an heard I honestly couldn't think of anything. Maybe cosmetics for different looking players or unique stuff for player housing maybe but thats all that comes to my mind. I don't think they'd lower themselves to selling weapons an armor an stuff like that for cash.

And if they somehow do, we know what must be done. Armed hostage siege of Bioware Austin.

Aww, I live in Massachusetts though, some of the strictest gun laws in the country. We need Recio to get the guns, he lives in Texas, so he by default, must have some sort of gun collection.
