I understand now how they wanted this to be iconic to star wars with reference to clones and stormtroopers. But I really think that there may be an ancient society of Mandalorians on Courascant, who are making military decisions about how the Republic does their army.

I don't think its a coincidence that T visors are so widley used in the Republic.
