View Full Version : Preparing For War
Heimdall Surtr
05-28-2009, 04:12 AM
Heimdall sighed in relief as the Peregrine descended into the Talusian atmosphere and landed in the Champion’s hangar. It had been a long two weeks, but he knew the task that lay ahead of him was even more daunting than the one that he had just completed.
Heimdall, Ar’core, and Tooma exited the Peregrine and began to unload the cargo from it. Quickly, two more of their vode came to assist in the process. One of the crates fell apart; the sound of durasteel hitting the ground made them all jump. On the ground laid several of the finest rifles that money could buy.
“Mandalore, where did you get the money for all of this?” one of the Mandalorians asked.
“Money had nothing to do with us getting these weapons, but that’s a story for a later time,” Heimdall replied.
The men finished unloading the cargo from the Peregrine and loaded it onto a repulsor lift to transport it to the armory.
“Tooma, ensure that the cargo gets to the armory,” instructed Mandalore.
“Of course, Mandalore,” he replied.
Heimdall and Ar’core made their way to the war room to prepare the briefing for the battle. After all, this time the enemy wouldn’t be a ragtag group of Sith with the occasional Dark Jedi; the enemy would be other Mandalorians, part of the greatest society of warriors the galaxy had ever seen. The time had come for battle, and Heimdall summoned his vode.
“Vode, the time for battle is upon us. Make your way to the war room for briefing as soon as possible.”
All of his vode filed into the room quickly, and soon there were no more seats left. When Heimdall had instructed his vode to call their brothers to arms they simply didn’t mess around. It seemed as if their numbers had almost doubled in a mere two weeks. It was good news indeed, as a monumental task laid before them. Mandalore started the holoprojector and began to lay out the battle plan before his troops.
“As you know, vode, a great task lies before us - one that will not only help change the tide of this war, but also bring great honor upon us all. The Surtr clan is not only a threat to the Republic, but also to Mandalorian culture and ideals as we know them. Everything we hold sacred – strength, honor, and truth – they defile. We must destroy them.
As many of you know, they have a heavily fortified base on the planet of Concord Dawn, which has no doubt become even more formidable with a recent influx of Sith troops. I have also received reports that a sizable Sith and Surtr Clan blockade is protecting the planet. The first step towards victory in this conflict is breaking the blockade.
This goal will be achieved by using Revan’s Fury, our own starfighters, and the manned Hammerhead Cruisers that were given to us by the Republic, which we’re replenished recently so that we now have forty under our command. Once the blockade is broken we will board the shuttles onboard Revan’s Fury and the Hammerhead’s and rendezvous at the drop zone I have designated. You will all receive coordinates to this drop zone on your datapads. It is roughly 10 miles from the Surtr Clan’s base.
Once we have landed we will use our air superiority to bombard the major defenses of their base. They have many anti-aircraft defenses, so this bombardment won’t last long – it’s only to keep them occupied long enough for us to establish our own defensive structures. Once that is accomplished then we will assess the situation and prepare for an attack. Failure is not an option. Any questions?”
The room was silent.
“Good,” Mandalore continued, “Make your way to the armory. We have obtained a large payload of disruptor rifles, energy cells, and kolto. It should be more than enough for the whole group. Once you’ve received your share, then make sure to dock your ships at Revan’s Fury. If you don’t have a ship, there will be several shuttles leaving on the first floor of the Hangar.
I will see you all aboard Revan’s Fury. Rynech, Tajos, and Sindorin, be sure to meet me in my quarters aboard the ship. We have many things to discuss.”
Heimdall, like the rest of the clansmen, packed his things and left on the Peregrine for Revan’s Fury. There, he waited for his vode to arrive to discuss more in-depth battle plans.

Walking out of the briefing room, and heading towards his own quarters, Sindorin gathered extra power packs for his lightsaber as well as ration packs and a comm unit. He sealed his room and made his way towards the Potemkin, the blockade runner that also served as his personal vessel. Sleek and fast, it made good time traveling to the Revan's Fury.
After docking with the vessel, he traveled towards Mandalore's quarters, and prepared to meet Rynech and Tajos there. He expected something very important.

Myith left the briefing room and ran to the first shuttle to, Revans Fury. Myith took only his lightsaber his armor, and a pistol he always kept on his belt with 4 energy cell packs. As he boarded Revans Fury he saw the blaster scars and the scorched walls of the recent battle he was already feeling good about this mission
Tracyn
05-29-2009, 03:58 PM
As Tracyn filled his armored backpack to the brim with a variety of detpacks, detcords and grenades he was excited to know that he was part of the operation and would get some well deserved Kote out of the fights to come.
Getting himself a few Uj cakes and compact combat rations of his own -they tasted horrible but were very rich in all that a body needed in order to fight- he nodded and cheered to a few brothers before heading for "Tome'tayl", his Davaab fighter. Checking that all ordnance was loaded and all systems were go. He got clearance to leave the base and proceeded to fly up to Revan's Fury.
The spectacle was unique. Dozens of ships from different places and times were now all scrambling toward the fight of another life time! This was going to be fun.
Once Tome'tayl was secured inside Revan's Fury, Tracyn walked around welcoming his vode on board.

Aeridas Sia'ryd
06-02-2009, 01:49 AM
Aeridas left the briefing room and headed towards the armory, not really interested in any of the disruptor rifles that Mandalore had mentioned but she could use a few packs of kolto. She usually carried a med pack or two with her, but her recent excursion on Mon Calamari had made her reevaluate the idea of making room in her pack for a little more field aids.
Once Aeridas was satisfied that her field kit was in order, she left the armory and made her way to one of the shuttles for the commute to Revan's Fury. She sat silently, listening to the other Mandalorians on the shuttle talk and joke with each other. These were her new vode and she was slightly nervous for this was also her first mission with them, not counting Mon Calamari.
The shuttle lurched as it left the planet-side base and she unconsciously tightened her hand around the grip of the blaster carbine.
Theros
06-04-2009, 05:08 AM
Theros headed out from the brefing room to the armory. Grabbing a few extra energy cells, electronics kit and kolto he made his way quickly to the Hangar.
He would trust on His repeater for this battle it has gotten him out of many scrapes in the past.
Since his ship had been so badly damaged trying to get onto the fury he decided to hop on one of the shuttles.Taking a moment before boarding he gazed out into space. It was one place he found comfort.
Kriel Strax
06-04-2009, 04:53 PM
Finally- battle. Something to take Kriel's mind off his inability to find anything on the Sith Lord that had escaped from Revan's Fury just two short weeks ago. Donned in his new black armor with gold trim, a Republic Trooper-style helmet of the same coloring and similar pauldrons, the former Trooper made his way to the armory. He perused the weapons available there, pausing on his preferred weapon: a heavy repeater rifle.
He grinned to himself as he collected a few energy cells and dispersed them around his person, made sure his vibroknife was strapped to his hip and the vibroblade he had trained so hard to master to his back, and gathered a handful of sonic and flash grenades, securing them carefully around his person. After that, he worked his way out to the shuttles that would take the Champions of Mandalore up to Revan's Fury. The Republic crest set behind the Mythosaur Skull on his pauldrons drew some odd stares from the others, but he didn't care.
He took a seat next to a Mandalorian in green armor with a pair of gold stripes on the breastplate and helmet. The Mando's grip was white-knuckle on his or her weapon, and Kriel couldn't help but chuckle softly.
"Nervous?"

Ayza left the briefing room like everyone else, and headed back to the med. She hurried so she wouldn't miss the last shuttle, not wanting history to repeat itself. Feeling the stress building up, she entered the medical bay and threw some quick commands at the young girls working there. She told two of them to grab all the field equipment they could carry, and the third and last one, who was pregnant, to stay and tend the injured. She herself grabbed what she could, along with her pistol incase she had to go out in the field. Giving their goodbyes to the pregnant one, all three headed out to the shuttles.

*Norko also left the War Room after briefing, unlike the rest he didn't walk to the armory, instead he ran into his ship and started the engines, and walked a bit back to his personnal armory inside the ship, handpicked a number of light rifles and a few heavy pistols and his new green republic trooper armour he had stolen from the sith base only a few weeks ago (which belonged to a prisoner of the base). he knew what was at stake... when his armour was finally on and his weapons strapped to his belt, he walked back to the cockpit and flew out of the hangar towards revan's fury. as he entered the ships hangar bay, a few painful memories returned to his mind, how he was captured in the middle of their battle there, the sith had quickly managed to knock him out and take him away while his vode couldn't help or find him, he stepped out of his ship after it landed and walked into the crowded hangar bay.*
*Norko quickly made his way to the bridge and remained there hoping his Mandalore would soon find him on his way there(if he would ever enter the bridge, that is) , while waiting Nork checked some systems to see if they were operational, at the same time checking if his right arm was repaired well enough to do battle once they reached Concord Dawn, the planet where he was imprisoned for a number of days prior to his return to the clan*

The Vanguard and its small crew would be soon be arriving at it's destination. Stryker had offered several Mandalorian warriors he'd met during the break a ride to Revan's Fury. Among them was the Force user Hibir Jiriad, who had been spending his time in deep meditation in preparation for the events ahead.
Stryker left the Vanguard's cockpit, stepped into his makeshift Recroom, and spotted the small Mandalorian huntress, Gale Skreev'kyr at a table assembling her rifle. With her helmet off, her long, braided dark-brown hair could be seen resting on her shoulders. He sat down across from her, gazing thoughtfully as she continued. "Should I call you Gale or Skreev'kyr?"
Gale’s eyes flickered across the Commander’s armor taking note of the heavy plates and slots for what could possible house blades on his gauntlets. Without missing a beat she responded, “Gale is fine alor'akaan.”
"Good," Stryker smiled cheerfully. "I was going to call you Gale either way."
A small grin spread across her face as she looked back towards her partially assembled blaster rifle.
"So, Gale, exactly how long have you been fighting with CoM?" he continued his little interrogation.
As her hands began absentmindedly cleaning and reassembling the rifle she answered, “I have only just joined…but you would know that Commander.” A ghost of a smile flickered across her face as she slammed the power cell home into the assembled rifle. Gale was sure he had read her personnel file prior to allowing her on his ship.
"That I would. But I wanted to hear it from you..." he said leaning back, studying the huntress as she tended to her rifle. After a brief moment of thought, a serious look took over his face, "This assault....it's victory or death...." he looked up rubbing his chin, "...or torture, and then death.....How are you feeling about it?"
“I’m sure you’re familiar with the planet Dxun sir?” she asked.
Stryker nodded affirmatively.
“On my home world our everyday existence is encompassed by a life and death struggle. The beasts of the jungle would cry out, baying for our blood and the very flora itself would slowly rot our equipment. We had to adapt or we’d die and every day we survived was another victory. This mission will be no different…as for the torture; I will be able to take it if it comes to that..." Her mind began to drift to a rather unpleasant incident in the Dxunian wilderness.
Stryker noticed a faint discomfort in her speech as she trailed off. "Torture's rough...I know that well because..." he said softly leaning forward, looking into her hazel eyes. "I have to put up with this little shutta every day," he grinned gesturing towards Spark, who bleeped innocently in return.
Gale laughed aloud, caught off guard at both the Commander’s comment and the unexpected direction the conversation had taken. “Oh what a horrible burden it must be to own this clearly troublesome little droid.” She winked at the astromech before turning her attention back to Stryker.
Reaching his arm out to pat Spark as he rolled by, Stryker continued to chat. "You fought very well in the battle circle....you fight with speed and intelligence. That's quite admirable. Those two qualities will get you far in combat, no matter who your opponent may be."
The Vanguard's navagation system began to sound off, indicating their close proximity to Revan's Fury. Stryker calmly rose to return to the cockpit turning to Gale before making his exit. "Are you ready, Gale?" he asked with a hearty smile.
In response she gave him brief smile, snapped on her helmet and slung her rifle. “Why Commander, I am always ready.”
Aeridas Sia'ryd

"Nervous?" Asked the Mandalorian sitting next to her. Aeridas looked over at him, taking in the black and gold armor with its Republic and mythosaur skull sigil. She nodded.
"This is the first time I've been deployed with the Champions. I'm not exactly sure yet how I fit into the picture, I just know there's a job that needs doing and I'm here to do it." She fell silent for a moment as she looked around the shuttle at the other warriors, some were sitting quietly and nervously as she had, and others were talking and joking with each other as if they'd known each other they're whole lives. What she'd said was true, she didn't really know where she would fit in yet with this close group of Mandos. She'd find her niche though.
"What's your name ner vod?" Aeridas asked.
Triso Telex
06-05-2009, 03:06 PM
Triso had gotten back to the base at the same time the breifing was going on and missed it. Though watching everyone loading up he had a good guess what was going on. He made his way back to the armory and started go load up. Primary blaster, secondary blaster, his repeating blaster, his rockets, power cells, thermal dets, his twin vibro swords, his daggers, as well as more weapons and back ups. He loaded everything into cargo bins then put them on a cart and started making his way following where others where heading whistling a tune as he went. He looked at the others he passed along the way most of them carrying no were near the a mount of weapons he was. He just let out a soft little laugh to himself.
We he made it into the hanger he looked over at his war droid a smile still on his face as he loaded his weapons load out on his droid before they put it into storage on the ship. He walked to his droid and patted it soft like a horse and leaned forward whispering to it softly. "Back to battle we go my old friend" He said with a evil grin on his face.
His eye's looked around the room looking at those lining up ready to get on there way. He moved over to where Aeridas was standing and over heard her words to his brother. He looked back at her with that crazy Triso look and spoke
"I have been a part of this clan for awhile and let me tell you I still have not found where I fit in." He said with a full hearty laugh.
"My Name is Triso I don't think we have had the honor of meeting." he said after laughing. He took a look back to his gear then to her's
"I think I have overpacked once again."
Prudii Ramikad
06-06-2009, 01:05 AM
Prudii quickly left the briefing room and headed toward the armory. He picked up one of the new disruptor rifles and smiled to himself as he looked it over. Before leaving he filled his military pack with extra energy cells, some explosives, and kolto and made sure that his beskad was attached to his belt. Leaving the armory he followed his vode to the shuttles that would take them to Revan's Fury, stopping only to stare at the man pushing a cart full of cargo bins towards the shuttles. "Now that is someone who knows how to pack" Prudii thought, and continued towards the shuttles. Once on the shuttle he sat silently and went through his armors systems while waiting for the shuttle to take off.

After leaving the meeting room, TariQari went to his personal quarters to obtain his gear. Tari was a fencing and close quarters combat specialist. His years in the Republic Navy dubbed him numerous awards and ribbons for his excellent service. Over the years, he purchased four personal starfighters and piloted dozens more. To Tari, the stars were his frontier. He packed several kolto medical packs, grabbed his lucky pike, a heavy Ion pistol with custom modifications, and a backpack with a number of other necessities. Last but not least, he programmed his utility droid which he sent down to his ship and off Tari went to the Revan's Fury.

OOC: Where the hell is Rynech?
((OOC: I'm here, I'm here, don't get your panties in a bundle.))
It was time for the Champions of Mandalore to take the offensive to Concord Dawn. Rynech had been waiting for the assault for two long weeks, with nothing to do but spar, and prepare himself mentally. This was going to be the largest battle Rynech had ever fought in, and to say he was nervous was a bit of an understatement. Nervousness was but one of many emotions he was feeling at the moment, however, and he tried to push them out of his brain as he made his way to the armory. He was just glad that the assault wasn't taking place on Dxun.
The attack on Concord Dawn was going to be a full-out assault, and as such, Rynech wouldn't take the Verp Shatter Gun he had with him. It was far too fragile for such a large conflict, despite his preference to it over a standard blaster. Choosing one of the nicer looking carbines over the disruptor rifles, he also holstered a Mandalorian Ripper at his side, along with a generous amount of ammunition, so that he wouldn't have to pull out his blades any time he faced a Dark Jedi.
Rynech then made his way to the hangar and boarded his ship, the Di'kutika, allowing several other Mandalorians to come with him like most of the other people with their own ships.
Eventually making his way to Mandalore's quarters on the Revan's Fury, he arrived there at about the same time that Ori'verd Sindorin did. Grasping him by the arm, the tradional Mandalorian greeting, Rynech said,"Su'cuy, ner vod."

Returning the greeting, Sindorin smiled in his helmet. It was truly great to see an old friend.
"Su'cuy'gar Ner'vode! It is good to see you Ry'ika." Sindorin said. As they waited, Sindorin figured he should pass the time with a joke.
"Hey, little brother, what ever happened with recapturing Korriban? Did you have to use the ewoks?" Sindorin said, chuckling.

Ry got a couple of strange looks from Republic soldiers as they passed by, as they didn't understand the admittedly strange inside joke. "And since when am I little brother? The last time I checked, I was senior Ori'verd.

Kriel opened his mouth to speak, but was interrupted by Triso. He shook his head and leaned back in his jumpseat, opting to clean his weapon and make sure everything was in proper working order. Once satisfied, he turned back to Aeridas and offered her his hand. "Name's Kriel Strax- just joined two weeks ago. Helped in the assault on Revan's Fury."
He shook Aeridas' hand and gave her a soft smile (even though he knew she couldn't see it), and leaned back in his seat again. "If you're half of what anyone else I've seen around here is, you'll be more than fine Aeridas."

Rynech found that Sindorin was one of but two Force users he trusted wholeheartedly. The other was his son. It was funny, because several years ago he treated anyone that could wield a lightsaber a potential threat. And now, his son used one.
Yeah. Funny that.
Myith

Myith walked around the hangar lightsaber clicking against his armored waist, his long robes flowing from beneath the armor. He was looking for some familiar faces, he was waiting for more of his squad to arrive. He noticed his Rynech, his buir, and Sindorin shake hands and exchange small talk.
He walked through the crowd of republic troopers and mandalorians getting off their shuttles and their small ships.
"Su'cuy Ry'buir Su'cuy Sindorin Sir." Myith said as he approached and shook both of their hands.

On board Tari's starfighter, The White Star, Republic Comm Chatter could be heard in the background. Tari was within several thousand meters away from the Revan's Fury. This was Tari's first mission with the Champions of Mandalore. For years he had served in the Republic Navy doing various missions and work. Now he was here, a Mandalorian, a soldier, a fighter. Tari's specialty was all things space. From starfighters to capitol ships, Tari could fly them without much thought if necessary. He hoped to assist in aerial attacks that might take place. For now he had one thing on his mind, the task at hand. Board the Revan's Fury.
With the roar of his engines coming to a halt, The White Star steadily approached the hangar bay tracked in the astrogational charts. The small fighter passed through the docking bay's shields and the repulsorlift slowly turned on. Within moments, The White Star was docked on the Revan's Fury and Tari stood on board for the first time. An exciting and one of a kind experience to be had. Not many could say they were standing freely on board a Mandalorian ship. Tari ejected his droid from his ship and met with the dock officer. As quickly as he landed he was now en route to the dormitory on the Revan's Fury.

The shuttle shook as it docked with Revan's Fury. She stood and walked with Kriel out into the hangar where many of the other Mandos were milling around.
"So, ner vod, what brought you to the Champions?
Kriel Strax
06-10-2009, 01:09 PM
"Revenge." Kriel replied without even a moment's hesitation. With the heavy repeater resting across his chest, he too observed their fellow Mandalorians milling about in the large hangar, speaking their native tongue for the most part. It was here most that Kriel felt out of place- he'd barely had time to get a grasp on greetings, much less actual sentences. He worried now that he'd be more of a hinderance than a help to his new bretheren.
Kriel's gaze then fell back to his new friend, Aeridas. Women were a rare sight in the Republic Army in his experience, but the Mandalorians were different- everyone was among their ranks, everyone could fight. He respected that. "What about you?

*After some time of preparing systems at the bridge, Nork was itching for some action... he was walking around the bridge with nothing to do so he decided to go down to the hangar and get some vode to train with him in the training room within revan's fury*
*He soon made his way down to the hangar bay. once there he piled some crates on top of eachother, climbed on top of them and shouted across the hangar bay so everyone could hear him*
"SU CUY'GAR VODE! ANADE MEG COPAANIR TSIKADOR PAR CONCORD DAWN, FOLLOW ME!"
*A few mandalorians in the crowd shouted in understandable language towards Norko*
"We are preparing for concord dawn, you dinii! we don't need you for that, aruetyc dinii!"
*At that moment Nork jumped down from the crates upon which he was standing, walking towards the one who spoke the insulting words... everyone who stood in the direct path between Nork and his opponent stepped aside. as Nork walked closer and closer, the amount of laughter from him increased. some mandalorians watched... when Nork reached his opponent, he got a hit on the head from someone behind him, he got down on one knee en he looked up at his second opponent who was bearing a normal long sword in one hand and a blaster pistol in the other, nork slowly stood up and turned around raising his right arm a little above his own shoulder height...*
*everyone was watching in silence as Nork was surrounded by two opposing Mandalorians, a moment later a long hidden knife extended from his right arm and he cut through his closest opponent's chest-armour leaving a long deep stripe from which blood came pouring out. the enemy being cut fell down on the ground and called out "MEDIC!". when nork heard the call for help he kicked the fallen mandalorian in the stomach. at that moment Norko got grabbed by the other opponent and was knocked over against a few other mandalorians who stood there watching how the fight went. Nork then stood up, laughing a little and then aimed his right arm at his last opponent and a small metal box extended above the knife. everyone could hear the sound of blaster-fire and the second Mandalorian fell to the ground with a scorch-mark at his left leg... Nork then walked away and sat down close to his ship, calling out*
"NO MORE STUPID CHALLENGES TODAY! OR THE NEXT ONE WILL EHEHEHHEHHEHEHEHE DIE!"
*Nork then started to walk around in the hangar, like a mad nexu. at the same time holding his head with both arms, it would seem he has a major headache*
*During the fight, the deck officer had sent a message to Mandalore's quarters, telling the champions that one of their men had injured two other soldiers in a fight inside the hangar bay*

Ayza let out a long, drawn out sigh. She was expecting fights, but not so soon, and especially not between brothers. Luckily the wounds were simple enough. She ordered her assistants to tend the worst wounded men, they needed the training. She herself went over to Norko.
"Did you keep your pride?" she said in a sarcastic tone, stopping him in his tracks. She touches his head, finding a small bulk. "Headache? You'll be fine. Just get some rest. And I guess that big and brave warriors like yourself don't need ice." Picking a small bag out of her pocket, she hands it to Norko. "Drink this. Hot water. You'll feel better."
Turning her attention to her girls, they have already taken the bleeding one onto a stretcher, ready to carry him away. The one with the blaster wound was limping besides them. "Miss, we need to get him into a tank. It's critical." said one of the girls. "Good." Replied Ayza, looking over the two men. "Well done." Together they left for the medical bay of the ship, getting instructions from the limping man.

A'den looked down at the owner of the ship that he was currently traveling on. He was unconscious, and apparently quite the snorer.
Several months of hunting around for the Mandolorian clan, the Champions of Mandalore, and he had finally found them. That was when the problem of actually getting to them became his main goal.
The ships owner began to stir.
He was kind enough to take A'den to Talus, where the Champions were currently located, but as soon as he found that he would be landing on a Mandolorian ship, he began to get a bit irrational, and tried to turn around.
Thats when A'den was forced to put him out. Nothing was getting between him and joining the Champions.
"Approaching destination, boarding in approximately 5 minutes." Said the robotic sounding onboard computer.
"Good, continue on course." A'den replied.
A'den walked over to the view port, and could hardly believe that he was close to his goal. The goal that has consued him the past few months after leaving the Army.
The Revans Fury came into view, and A'den was awestruck.
"I guess its now or never." A'den said to himself before requesting permission to land.
Tajos Tal

(( OCC - I'm starting off my part of the rp here ))
While waiting with Rynech in Mandalore's quarters, a faint ring came from the datapad he had attached to his forearm. He accepted the call and a sudden flow of information began to display on his heads up display. A map of the space outside Revan's Fury caught his eye, a small ship unknown to Tajos was asking permission to dock onto the Revan's Fury. "Looks like we new visitors" Tajos murmured to Rynech. He switched channels to the docking hanger loudspeakers, "Vode, a unknown ship to us is docking...weapons live..good luck.."

A'den strapped the last piece of his matt black armor on, and checked one last time to see if his A280 blaster rifle was fully charged.
"Guess this is it." A'den said aloud before pulling to ramp release lever, which was accompanied by the slow hiss of the ramp lowering.
A'den looked back one more time to the now groggy driver, and threw him a few credit chips which he fumbled to catch.
Walking out of the ramp the first thing A'den saw was an assortment of armored warriors, and as he expected, they all looked like the shoot first, ask questions later types.
"Well, I guess I found the right group then." muttered A'den before slowly raising his hands above his head.
"Is killing volunteers part of initiation or something? Because I must say you may not be getting many more recruits if this continues." chuckled A'den, which was an alien sound to be coming from him.
Striding off the ramp A'den called out to the crowd of warriors saying "Who do I need to see to enlist around here?"

Kriel gathered a small group of Mandalorians around him as Tajos' voice came over the speakers in the hangar. He swept the immediate space outside the hanger, spotted the lonely glinting of something metallic coming. 'That's gotta be the ship. he thought, waving for the few Mandalorians gathered around him to follow. They sped over to the open docking space in the hangar, where Kriel swept his hand to his left and to his right- a silent instruction for the warriors to spread out in a line.
As the ship slowly began to descend, Kriel brought his heavy repeater to bear and yanked the charging handle. The rest of the warriors soon followed suit, suspicious of the strange ship. With a hiss ( a rather dramatic one at that), the gangplank began to descend. Kriel took half a step forward. A figure, Mandalorian for sure, stepped out in matte black armor.
"Is killing volunteers part of initiation or something? Because I must say you may not be getting many more recruits if this continues." chuckled A'den, which was an alien sound to be coming from him.
With a nod, Kriel lowered his weapon and gestured downward with his right hand; the all-clear sign. The warriors that had followed him lowered their weapons, almost synchronously. "Stay right where you are, newcomer. Don't move unless you want to be vaporized." Kriel said, the transmitters in his helmet projecting his voice through speakers in the front. They made his voice sound somewhat staticy and far more gruff than it usually was.
He then clicked off his external comms for a moment and radioed Champion Tal. "All clear, Champion. Volunteer, or so he says."

A'den replied to the mans orders with a nod.
Well at least they aren't aiming at me anymore. Thought A'den as he stood almost motionless, being eyed by the slightly less hostile group of Mandolorian's in front of him.
Now just to wait and see who I need to talk to.
Thats when A'den remembered that he had not planned this far ahead, and that he should probably start figuring out what he was going to say.
I'm a disgrace, without somebody pointing out something for me to kill I'm useless. I've been in the Army for so long that I can barely think for myself. Things need to change when I'm expecting others to put the words into my mouth for me. Thought A'den, completely disgusted with himself.
OOC: Anything in the italics in A'den thinking, he does not say any of this out-loud.
Myith
06-19-2009, 02:50 AM
Myith was wandering the ship he was looking for Commander Stryker he knew the mission briefing but he figured he should find the commander of his squad and find out whats up.
He walked around a corner gliding through the crowd of republic troopers and mandalorians who were all moving in opposite directions, some going to the mess hall, others to, and from the hangar. He closed his eyes and drifted onwards trying to find the presence of Stryker and the other men in his squad. When he heard Tajos's voice on the intercom.
An unknown ship was docking. the soldiers around him all burst into action running through by him and pushing him trying to get to the Hangar. He figured they were more then enough to take whatever was coming. He continued on to the Mess hall which was deserted except for some plates of odd green paste and ration cubes, the tasteless nutritious part of any soldiers diet.
Heimdall Surtr
06-19-2009, 02:59 AM
Heimdall was entranced, staring at the hologram of the surface of Concord Dawn. He began moving around the holographic troops with his hands, trying to figure out the best way to attack the enemy. The Surtr Clan was full of great warriors including, as much as he hated to admit it, Jaskr. The thought of that name alone made Heimdall tremble inside with rage.
Heimdall knew a daunting task lay before him and his vode. They had dealt with a small contingent of Surtr Clan warriors at the Battle of Tendin Vale, but this was completely different. This was the full force of the Surtr Clan, along with any Sith Troops that may be with them, on their turf. These were Mandalorians, born to shed blood, not some Sith Troopers who were given some cheap armor, a mediocre blaster rifle, and sent to the front lines.
He knew he did have some advantages though; he knew the terrain of Concord Dawn like the back of his hand, and most importantly he knew his enemy becuase they were once his family.
Just as he had figured out his plan of attack, the door flew open with a familiar woosh. Three of the best warriors the Champions of Mandalore had to offer entered the room; Champion Rynech Viatl, as well as two upcoming warriors in Sindorin and Tajos Tal.
Heimdall greeted them in typical Mandalorian fashion and motioned them to have a seat in front of his desk.
"My brothers, it is good to see you," Heimdall said.
"No doubt you are wondering why I called you here," he continued, "You three will be commanding your own division of troops in the battle, but I haven't assigned them yet. Is there anyone that any of you wish to have serve with you in your squad?"

Nodding and accepting the firm greeting from his Mand'alor, Sindorin made his way towards the far right seat, and leaned forward as Heimdall spoke.
"No doubt you are wondering why I called you here," Mand'alor said, "You three will be commanding your own division of troops in the battle, but I haven't assigned them yet. Is there anyone that any of you wish to have serve with you in your squad?"
Taking up the first opportunity, Sindorin nodded sagely. He knew that many of his vode would be duly qualified to follow him into battle. He had only fought with a select few however and he knew their strengths and disadvantages very well.
"I would prefer to have Jak Covell, Aeridas, Tracyn, and Darim specifically. Anyone else is welcome to join me, but I would definitely like those warriors transferred to my command for the operation sir. " Sindorin said, studying a readout of each warrior inside his HUD screen in his helmet. He knew their profiles well, as he did all of his vode that he interacted with.

The Vanguard was one of the last ships to dock into Revan's Fury. As he, Gale, Hibir, and the other passengers boarded the capital ship, Champion Tal's message rang over the intercom.
Stryker raised his brow and turned to those behind him. "Well I hope they're not talking about us."
He'd decided to make his way to the bridge, and the group followed. On the way he heard his name called out from far behind. He looked back and saw Myith hurriedly approaching.
Gale Skreev'kyr
06-19-2009, 05:01 AM
Gale stopped short as Stryker turned back to greet the force sensitive. After having seen the devastation they had caused in the battle circle she was a bit unnerved by them.
As Myith approached she began to count the number of Mandalorians in the hanger, then the number of ships docked, then the number of durasteel plates on the ceiling...anything to keep her mind of the mando'jetti hybrid.
She had noticed the way that all of the force users that had participated in the battle circle seem to track people who were emotionally unsettled and she didn't want to end up on this guy's supernatural radar.
She made a mental note to herself to ask her commander about jetii and dar'jetti combat tactics because he hardly seemed perturbed by watching so many of his vod fall to them in the circle...
Aeridas Sia'ryd
06-19-2009, 05:15 AM
When the newcomer's ship landed, Aeridas moved with Kriel and a few others to take up a position near its loading ramp. She readied the blaster carbine and waited as the ramp hissed and lowered, revealing just one man who immediately raised his hands above his head in a gesture of surrender. He exchanged words with Kriel and it became clear that he meant no harm. Aeridas let the blaster fall to her side on its strap, and shook her head.
Never a dull moment around here, eh? She said to Kriel.
Myith
06-19-2009, 05:26 AM
Myith approached Stryker and Hibir, the group of mandalorians with them were unfamiliar to him. He noticed one intentionally looking another way from Myith. He approached Stryker and took his arm in greeting. He greeted Hibir as well and began,
"Commander, I've been looking for you. I wasnt sure if you had landed or not I felt yours and Hibirs presence when you did and went to meet you. Do you know if we will be in the same squad?" Myith asked.
As he was talking he zoned in on the Mandalorian who had only glanced at Myith when he had approached. He knew that it was a women, she was directly avoiding his gaze, he chuckled she was trying to cloud her thoughts. Myith knew he shouldnt get into trouble but he was always a curious person and decided to invade her mind.
He did so without permission and began his silent assualt on her head.
Hmmm, Gale Skeev'kyr he whispered into her head, worried about my ability to use the force? Dont be. Myith cut the link and smiled at the end of his question to Commander Stryker.
"I know that my father mentioned selection of squads upcoming and since I wasnt on the last mission I was hoping to get in yours since your under his command." Myith quickly added turning his eyes that were returning to the hazel color from the bluish they had become when he used the force.
Rynech Viatl
06-19-2009, 05:29 AM
After greeting his Mand'alor, taking his seat, and listening to Heimdall's words, Rynech thought carefully over who he wished to command. Two of them were blatantly obvious.
"Commander Stryker, my Warlord. My son, Myith."
Then he paused a moment to think over his choices.
"Norko Vonus." That was a tricky one. Norko was a friend, but he had a bloodlust that was almost insatiable. Despite knowing Norko since he had joined the Champions of Mandalore, he would have to keep a close eye on Vonus.
"Gale Skreev'kyr." There was a reason Rynech had chosen the newblood; it wasn't a random pick. He wanted to see what she was made of; but this curiosity to see Gale's mettle tested stemmed from the fact that she was a Skreev'kyr. The Skreev'kyr were a clan from Dxun, like the Viatl. Rynech had faced a Skreev'kyr in a cross-clan battle circle match back on Dxun; his particular opponent was a ferocious fighter, and despite Rynech's pride, it was a fight he didn't win. Maybe it was the fact that their rite of passage was to kill a skreev without armor or blasters, but Rynech had done the same against a zakkeg, so he was left puzzled. In the end, he wanted to see if that skill was held up in Gale; Rynech had high expectations.
"Those are all of the particular warriors I wish to command. I would be honored to lead any other warriors you give me, Mand'alor."
Tajos Tal

"No doubt you are wondering why I called you here," Mand'alor said, "You three will be commanding your own division of troops in the battle, but I haven't assigned them yet. Is there anyone that any of you wish to have serve with you in your squad?"
Tajos was surprised and greatly honored at what Mand'alor had asked. Many names went through his mind, all great warriors, all brave souls. But two names held most prowess to him personally.
"Verden Fel and Kriel Strax, these two I would like Mand'alor and as Rynech and Sindorin have said, I will accept any others you wish to assign to my division.."

She froze and stifled the sharp intake of breath that often came with shock and surprise as Myith invaded her mind. Hmmm, Gale Skeev'kyr, came the eerie whisper, worried about my ability to use the force? Don’t be.
For a second a frown crossed her face. So much for the mind being a sanctuary, she supposed. After regaining control Gale again forced her concentration on other things. Before she began calculating the amount of ammunition she would need to stock up on for the mission, one last thought flickered through her mind, Words mean nothing. Let his actions speak for him.

As Myith approached in greeting, Stryker noticed Gale recoil apprehensively. He made a quick mental note to check up on her later, then began conversing with Myith.
"I think it's a safe bet to say we'll be in the same squad, Myith. We're heading to the bridge to await assignment, and to see the 'Wishing Well'. You're welcome to join us."
Myith
06-19-2009, 10:17 PM
Myith nodded and followed the group. He took the moment to talk to Gale, he knew that one of her family members had beat Rynech in a duel on Dxun, he tapped into her thoughts, she was counting ammunition.
Hey, whats up, why do you not like force users? he whispered into her head. Just respond in thought, I'll hear it haha. he added.
Gale Skreev'kyr
06-19-2009, 10:57 PM
She began to think back in response, "It's not so much that I dislike your kind but I am rather wary of something that has, so far, proved undefeatable. I’m not to keen on going into combat knowing that there are more force users out there who could tear my vod and I to shreds with a simple thought. All it would take is a small army of jetti or worse dar’jetti to wipe us normal Mandalorians out…not that you are particularly abnormal. More like extraordinary or supernatural", she back tracked.
She thought a bit more about why she found force users to be unnerving before thinking again, "And having the sanctity of your mind invaded without permission is not exactly what I’d call enjoyable. As soon as I can I will be asking Commander Stryker about how to defend myself, and hopefully beat, enemies of your particular abilities."

Myith frowned, unbeatable... he wished.
We can die just as easily as anyone, I've both killed sith, and watched jedi die./I] Myith whispered in a saddened tone.
Myith blocked the memories of his fallen friends.
[I]As for blocking your mind, that requires no effort just think about 2 or even 3 things at once, it jumbles your mind makes you harder to invade. Its harder to invade then it is to block it, we have to tap into a specific thought or memory, if your running two or more we cant pinpoint an entry way into your head. Of course you wont be able to block my voice, just your memories and thoughts so your stuck with any force users two sense whether you like it or not. Myith thought of his friend Taruth, smiling at first, but frowning again.
He said out loud "If you want you can always join my meditation, if your so wary of the force, you should learn more about it, there are ways even the weakest of fighters can repel the force, while the strongest of them would fall and cry like frightened babies."
"Commander Stryker, whats the Wishing Well?" Myith asked quickly, he had no idea where they were going.
Tracyn
06-20-2009, 01:23 AM
The numbers of ships inside the Revan's Fury hangars had increased to its full potential. Tracyn had greeted some of the brothers and sisters who had arrived but after a bit he felt bored and was now resting on top of his Davaab fighter named Tome'tayl, Memory in mando'a. There he had managed to fix his backpack on a wing and was using his helmet as a pillow. He hadn't taken a single smoke since before the battle circle which had been orchestrated by Stryker... who was now talking to one of the force sensitives he had recognized... one who had used that Jetii weapon instead of a true warrior's blade.
He shrugged off the thought and had taken note of the different events. And in this relaxed state, probably the most relaxed mando'ad any of them had met ( if not the most than probably up there with the famous top 10 ), Tracyn took a small pack of cigarettes and took one out, using a small lighter to light it up. Taking a few puffs a small streak of blue smoke rose from where the red headed brother was enjoying his view of the hangar.
One brother had come up and made a comment about getting back into his smocking habits. Tracyn looked down to see who it was and recognized the blue armor, it was his opponent at the battle circle. "As long as we're still breathing brother, I might as well enjoy it." he had replied offering him a smoke which he had declined. They had fought each other and there for knew each other a bit more. He went off to check on his gear or perhaps his closer vods.
In the now crowded hangar, Tracyn tapped his foot on the hull of his ship and he hummed to a rhythm still unknown to some, but to those who had been part of the clan long enough and who had bothered with it could recognize as the Champions' War Hymn.

She could hear the morose in the way Myith described fallen force users and decided to press the issue no further. She was satisfied with the information and offer that he had provided. Perhaps he was trust worth after all.
"I would like very much to join you in meditation vod. I think that would be a rather...enlightening experience." she replied. Anything to get an edge in our fight against the dar'jetii, she mused, or any force sensitive enemies for that matter.
As Myith began questioning her commander, Gale's thoughts fell silent as she listened for Stryker’s answer.

It became clear that Myith had been communicating with Gale through the force when the two abruptly finished their conversation out loud. There was an awkward moment of silence before he answered.
"The 'Wishing Well' is a nickname for the bridge design of the Republic's Inexpungable-class Tactical Command ships."
They'd reached the bridge elevator at the end of the hallway, and Stryker held the door open while the group entered.
"It's the...'latest thing'...from a technological standpoint. Numerous holograms are transmitted over a crystalline deck, providing a combination of electronic and visual data, and expediting command for over...60 Hammerhead cruisers simultaneously."
The elevator came to a swift halt and the doors opened.
"Careful...the sight of it for the first time might make your head spin."
The group stepped into the bridge.

Outside, in space just above Talus system the sleek, black figure of the Foray Class Blockade Runner, the Potemkin became visible as it jumped out of Hyperspace near the Revan's Fury. It's braking thrusters and maneuvering thrusters fired, bringing it along side the larger vessel.
The personal command ship for Sindorin, it would serve as the infiltration vehicle for Sindorin's forces during the battle. It was equipped with a point defense system using a millimeter waveguide targeting system and advanced sensor suites, it was the perfect ship for deep penetration into enemy space.
Onboard the Command Bridge, Sub-Commander Iblis X'char stood watch, and sent a message to Sindorin.
My Lord, the ship is prepared and we await your orders... Iblis said via closed comm in Sindorin's helmet.
Understood. Await further instructions... Sindorin replied, as he waited for Mandalore's orders.

Myith walked onto the Bridge, he had never been on any ship this big.
"I guess this is... nice" He said as he walked by a huge targeting screen.
"I'm not sure what most of this stuff is but its nice." Myith added.
This ship was huge, he wondered how many people it could hold.
"Now that I think of it, I'm going to go pick a room maybe I can find one where I wont have to share my bunk." Myith said and quickly ran down to the crew quarters.
He found men and women all unpacking in most of the rooms. He sighed as he kept finding occupied rooms, he walked to the very back of the crew quarters and opened the last door on the left to find an empty room with 4 bunks.
"Well, this will do, maybe I can lock the door so no more people can come in..." Myith whispered to himself.
He walked in and claimed the left most bunk for himself and put his bag under the bed and layed back on the bed. He removed only his helmet and tried to sleep. He wanted to be rested for the mission ahead.

*as most people were busy preparing for their journey, Nork made his way to a training room within the ship, there were a few droids(utility droids mostly) in a sort of controll room, close to the actual training room. some of the droids fell silent as Nork walked in. he said to one of the droids*
"droid, activate training program: sith commando squad level 3"
*The droid beeped a few times and got to a controll socket, as Norko stepped into the training room wearing his full republic trooper armor and having his heavy blaster pistols ready*
let's see if I still got it *he thought to himself, as the holographic room started a scenario*
*an entire squad of sith commandos appeared in a wartorn forest-like terrain, some fires here and there. the commandos had taken a position behind trees, as Nork didn't see them yet. he carefully walked from tree to tree, as he checked them out for possible threats...*
*Meanwhile the commandos were taking their positions, for a quick ambush... As Nork walked closer to the ambushing stage, he heard the sound of branches breaking in front of him, he got behind a tree and looked around to see if there were any footprints on the ground*
these training programs get more real by the year *he thought, when he actually saw a footprint on the ground, he waited and thought of a tactic while standing behind his tree*

She took a few tentative steps towards the bridge room trying to track all of the activity. The visual data: war ships, solar systems, and slips space routes, was disorienting enough to Gale; she didn't even bother plugging into a terminal and trying to follow the electronic data. While she was impressed by the ship's tactical value, she wanted to see what it could do in combat.
After hearing Myith take his leave she decided that she would follow his lead and try to find a room to bunk in. She saluted Stryker, bid him farewell and turned on her heel to leave.

"Alright, I will take Tooma and Ar'core under my command. The rest of the troops will be divided up evenly and randomly between us," Heimdall replied to to Rynech, Sindorin, and Tajos.
"Now, on to the battle plan. Rynech and Sindorin - you two will join me on the surface on Concord Dawn with you platoons. Jaskr hates me, and I plan to use this to our advantage. I will march over this hill approximately a mile north of their base's main gate. You two will stay with your platoons behind the hill out of sight.
Jaskr will no doubt charge me when he sees that I only have a modest amount of troops with me. When he gets within a quarter of a mile, you two will come over the hill and reveal yourselves. Tajos - your platoon will drop swoop down from Revan's Fury. We will have them surrounded. I doubt he will accompany the force he sends to capture me, so there will still be fighting left to do. For all of this to work, we must be sure to destroy any surveillance devices and aircraft they have orbiting the planet. Are we clear?"

Rynech Viatl
06-21-2009, 05:01 AM
As Rynech listened, he found he had issues with the battle plan. He didn't like to questions his Mand'alor, but, in the lack of a better phrase, that's what he was there for. The Champions were Mandalore's advisers.
"Mand'alor, I don't mean to be blunt, but I believe the plan is flawed. Despite his allegiance to the Sith, and his hatred for you, Jaskr is Mandalorian. Somehow I doubt he'd think you would make a frontal assault with only meager numbers. He would suspect a trap."
Rynech paused a moment, then continued. "Also, wouldn't the destruction of their surveillance equipment set off a warning light? That, combined with a seemingly weak frontal assault force, would almost guarantee that Jaskr would see that we're baiting him into a trap."
"Again, I don't mean to question you, but I just don't like the idea of Mandalorian lives hinging on Jaskr's hatred towards you blinding his ability to think strategically."
Kriel Strax
06-21-2009, 05:19 AM
Kriel shook his head at Aeridas and left a few other Mandalorians to watch the newcomer until they could get word from Champion Tal. "Never a dull moment indeed. Come on." Now that I think about it, Rynech has a point... Sindorin thought. another thing that they had forgotten was the possible likelyhood of orbital batteries and defense forces. There had to be a contingent of ships in orbit to protect the forces on the surface.
"If I may, Mandalore, I think we should take a look at a plan I think will work. What it will call for, is the division of our forces into three groups. The first group will consist of Myself, and Rynech taking care of the enemy forces positioned in orbit. Our goal should be to penetrate the enemy blockade of ships that will likely be formed by the time we arrived. Granted, we will have the element of surprise, but they will react quickly. They are, after all, Mandalorians as Ry says. " Sindorin says. Opening a holographic map of the planet Concord Dawn, he shows the elements of the CoM fleet, and positions them in a staggering formation.
"If we position the Potemkin at the tip of the task force I believe it will be possible to interfere with enemy sensors to prevent long range missiles from engaging our fighters and capital ships. If we likewise stagger our forces in a "stair step" formation it will be possible to have the entire fleet engage the enemy in one sector without having to overlap fields of fire. It will break the blockade and allow a landing force aboard the smaller, faster, Potemkin to land. There, Myself, as well as you will land and execute your own plan with only one modification. Sindorin said.
Now, Sindorin zoomed in the image and showed the hill previously located by Mandalore, and made three dots on the map. The first dot was naturally, Mandalore. He designated this point as 1. To the right of Mandalore, was Sindorin's forces consisting of infantry, as well as a few smattering light tanks and Anti Armour units. Tajos' forces, however were a more interesting matter.
"When you initially engage the traitors, My forces forces will sweep forward into the main complex. However, once you have engaged, Tajos will send his forces down from the Potemkin, and he will have to drop in via War Droid to disrupt their coordination and response. Once he lands, he will have to sweep from the opposite direction. This will lock up the ability for the traitors to receive reinforcements. If there is little resistance in the complex, you need merely hold on long enough for Tajos and I to link up in the center and catch your former rival in a pincer movement, and then," Sindorin said, gesturing with a armored fist.
"We will crush him! Rynech's forces, either lead by himself, or perhaps lead by one of his subordinates, will be in reserve after he deals with the mopping up of the fleet. I can commit three cruisers and a dozen fighters to the orbital convoy Mandalore." Sindorin said.
Tajos Tal
06-21-2009, 05:49 AM
Tajos liked the plan, he was one of war no matter how horrid the situation became. That was his place to be, it was where he was comfortable.
"I do agree with Rynech, though either way I believe we could win. It is up to you Mand'alor. Sacrifice Mandalorian lives for a decisive victory, or sacrifice the opportunity for a quick battle"
Tajos knew many of his men would hate to hear that they would drop from space and crash into the planet below, but it was the only way he'd want to see the Mandalorian under his leadership fight. They were destined to become the Buurenaar Rusur of Clan Surtr, the most vicious of warriors, the ones that survived at least...

"Understood. I will move to prepare my forces immediately. I suggest we move out in 36 hours. If I am needed, I can be contacted via Comms. For Mand'alor!" Sindorin saluted, as he then exited the room. Walking swiftly down the hall, he brought up the requisitions panel. He made sure to make a high priority placement for a dozen light armor vehicles as well as Anti Tank missile and blaster batteries to be transferred to his private capital ship, The Potemkin. He also made a requisition for a team of Mortars to be used as indirect fire assets.
Walking into the Hangar bay, he unlocked the cargo seal on a crate of blaster rifles and had the loading droid load them, as well as a dozen other munitions crates onto the ship. The preperations had to begin immediately. Opening a secure line to all of his squadron members, he sent the following message:

"..Ke sarim..lenedat demalgoka.." Tajos said under his breath, he sat up, and saluted Mand'alor.
"I wish all of you the best of luck, I will see you all planet side."
He walked out in a fast pace, eager to get his warriors gathered together. He opened up communications with Verden Fel and Kriel Strax..
"Hello to you both, this is champion Tal, please gather our warriors together in hanger bay 5. I have some exciting news to relay to you all.."
He then sent two separate list of names that had been assigned to the division to Fel and Strax. "Here are a list of names I need you to round up, we do not have much time, let us hurry this up"
The door to the hanger bay opened, it was quiet despite the numerous amount of ships docked inside it. There he waited for his vode to arrive.
Norko
06-21-2009, 10:11 AM
*Meanwhile back in the holographic training room inside revan's fury, an all out combat ensued between the holographic sith commandos and the real Nork. Nork had managed to pin down and destroy one of the sith commandos by means of a tackle and repeated blaster fire to the opponent's head... after that happened, the sith commandos had started another tactic, the outnumber attack tactic, a simple but deadly tactic, in which Nork could easily fail the training exercise if he wasn't careful...*
*Nork managed to hide behind a tree while three sith commandos were firing at him, another came from another tree close to Norko. when Nork had spotted him, he started blasting the blood out of him, the hologram disappeared and Nork counted only three left. Nork unsheathed his Vibrosword and waited for the commandos to try and outflank him, which they did after a few minutes. Nork stabbed the first one coming around the tree and blasted the other two that came passed the other side*
"training exercise ended, please wait for stats.... your kills are counted, your wounds are counted..."
what?! I have been wounded, by who? *he thought with curiosity, the training computer explained the rest of the stats*
"counted five succesful kills, one of which wounded you, holographic commando five managed to take a shot at you from behind Holographic commando four, mission succesful, good luck in the war, sir"
*The training computer shut down and Nork seemed disappointed, this was one of the highest levels of the training simulation, which normally he would've done easily... he walked out of the training room, back to the hangar where his ship was, he entered it and put on his beskar'gam and prepared most of his heavy weapons for combat... he couldn't wait untill he could blast the shit out of the Surtr mandalorians and sith on concord dawn's surface... he waited for this for two weeks, preparing his revenge on the sith scum in the detention level of the base planetside. he got the schematics of the entire Surtr base on Concord dawn when he escaped torture there. as he was done picking his weapons, he strapped them on and walked back to the bridge of revan's fury, looking at some systems. which seemed state of the art. he waited as he had waited for two weeks, almost nothing could stop his vengeance now*

While he waited, he also sent a message to the Mandalorians in the docking bay where the strange vessel was located.
"This is Sindorin. All forces in the docking bay are ordered to permit the newcomer to travel anywhere on base. He is a friend." Sindorin finished. He closed the channel and continued to wait.
A'den Kyr'amur
06-21-2009, 02:42 PM
When the announcement came over the com, A'den felt like a huge weight was lifted off his shoulders.
Finally, after months of searching I am here. I have done it.
A'den looked around and approached the closest Mandolorian he could see and asked "Who is Sindorin?"
"Sindorin is one of the Champions." the Mandolorian replied
"Where can I find him?"
The Mandolorian pondered this for a moment.
"I would try his ship, its one of the Capital Ships anchored near the Revans Fury, called the Potemkin."
A'den nodded his thanks to the Mandolorian then walked off, searching for a ride.
Aeridas Sia'ryd
06-21-2009, 03:06 PM
Aeridas cocked her head slightly to the side as a transmission from Sindorin cut through the comm traffic in her helmet. She had thirty-six hours to be onboard the Potemkin before it left Revan's Fury.
She looked over at Kriel and said, If we're going to find this mess hall vod, best do it quick. Sounds like the assault will begin shortly.
Jak Covell
06-21-2009, 03:11 PM
Jak Covell had just gotten the message from Champion Sindorin and proceeded to go onboard the Potemkin, he had not seen any of his comrades for a long time and was pleased to be onboard for battle.
Jak had just returned from his private investigation of the rumored Sith Lord behind the battle of Talus some time ago albeit with no fruitful results.
He docked His new Corellian Freighter MPW111 Zeta Class Custom or AKA The Indigo Bullet and began walking towards his Vode preparing for the upcoming battle.
Jak was ready and prepared for battle wearing his normal Dark Jedi Robes overlapped with his Uniform Green Mandalorian Armor for both Protection and Agility, armed with 1 Heavy Blaster Pistol, 1 Concealed Blaster Pistol kept in his boot, and his Dual Phase Yellow Light Saber.
He approached his Champion Sindorin and spoke with a prideful tone saying
“Champion Sindorin! Warlord Jak Covell reporting for Active Duty and orders, Sir!”
Gale Skreev'kyr
06-21-2009, 03:29 PM
As Gale trudged out of the bridge she made sure to save some of the data she has seen about the near by planets. The data included information such as terrain, points of interest and any tactical information she might need. She wanted to make sure she was prepared.
You never know where you might end up after a fight. I'll have to be sure to get the latest weather forecasts before the mission begins, she reasoned.
While walking towards the living quarters of the ship she searched for a room that wasn’t too terribly crowded.

Dha-Kad
06-21-2009, 04:26 PM
Dha-Kad flashed in the Talus system, and quickly engaged the stealth drive before anyone could notice his arrival. He looked over at the looming sight of ‘Revans Fury’.
Well this is the place the old man told me about he thought and quickly took a scan of all of the ships that where orbiting the planet. Shab..... That enough fire power to slag a planet he thought as he looked over the reading from the scan. Now to wait and see if what the old man said was true....
Dha set the auto pilot to follow the ships and settled in.... Left with only the ghosts of his past....
Tracyn
06-21-2009, 04:55 PM
Tracyn's datapad bleeped twice signaling a priority message. Still laying on top of his fighter, he took out a small datapad from his wrist and was reading over the content of the message. Direct order from Sin'ika.
Well it seemed like things would be pacing up, he had also noticed a few other mando'ade from the squad reading up on their datapads at about the same time. There it was, the look of happiness on some, while others just noted the message and carried on. Tracyn was one of the later.
He attached his helmet to his belt, the tubes usually connected to his buy'ce were now hanging on his shoulders. He checked his armored backpack and noted he had all that he needed for this op. All that was left was to figure out what it is would be needed from him and how would this attack happen. He jumped down onto the ground and inspected his fighter one more time. He had some time still.
The particularity of this Davaab starfighter, apart from its heavy modifications that turned this 2 man fighter into a one man fighter with more fire power capabilities, was its hull. The Tome'tayl had seen centuries of war and thousands of fights and survived them all. But to say it had survived unscarred would be a blatant lie. The hull of this ship had been repaired with beskar from other ballen ships. Beskar that had come from the armors of fallen brethren. In its framework, it had the memory of countless mandalorians. From previous owners of the fighter to those they had considered family. Tracyn believed this ship to be the definition of aay'han. The ship had mourned countless mando'ade yet it had lived through the greatest joys.
Tracyn had repainted the ship during the two weeks preceding this even. It was colored in a brown color, classic of most mandalorian ships, with streaks of green that matched his own armor. On what could be called the upper wing was the imprint of the Kom'rk be Kot 's symbol. A fist of strength that showed his allegiance to champion Sindorin and Mand'alor.
There were others details that he had added himself, and all were pristine. As he came up to the front of his fighter, Tracyn patted the beskar hull and jumped back into his cockpit. Next destination was the Potemkin. After getting clearance his fighter launched off Revan's Fury and started his docking operations with the Foray-class blockade runner. As he got closer to it he whistled in awe. It's true Sindorin's capital ship was quite the sight as well.
He searched around and asked nearby vode where he could find "Sin'ika", as Tracyn was one of the few to refer to him that way, and once pointed in the right direction he grabbed the Mandalorian's forearm in a greeting. He did the same for Jak Covell. Both men had Tracyn's respect and he both considered them as brothers.
"So what's the plan?"

*Nork got a little tired of waiting on the bridge for any superiors to arrive any time soon, so he figured he'd rather get some sleep untill he was called for... he walked into the crew quarters, seeking for one without too much of a crowd. when he stumbled upon the one Gale was in, he seemed to have made his pick*
"Vod, do you have a problem with me sleeping here?"
*Nork asked Gale, as he looked around the room*

"Welcome Jak, Tracyn. It is good to see you both. we have much to discuss" Sindorin said, grasping each of their forearms. The three men took a seat on a row of crates near the entrance to the docking bay of the ship as Sindorin deposited a Hologram projector on the floor and activated it. It showed a map of the planet Concord Dawn as well as a a display of the surface.
"Our primary task is to jam enemy sensors long enough to allow Mand'alor and ourselves to land a sizable force on the surface. Rynech's fleet will engage and destroy the fleet in orbit and then join us." Sindorin said. He scrolled over the surface view and located the position on the map North of the main complex.
"Mand'alor will land with his ship, and I will be carrying Tajos and his forces, along will our equipment. We will have to drop Tajos from the sky first, here.Sindorin said, locating a spot near Mandalore's position.
"Mandalore is going to engage the enmey first, distracting him. Our task is to land indirect fire assets just behind the lines, and then proceed and drop right into the hotzone, here, to the right of Mandalore's forces." sindorin pointed out.
Looking right at Tracyn, Sindorin said,
"You'll be flying escort towards the surface, and once we land, you will need to deposit your ship and link up with me back on the Potemkin when we drop off the indirect fire teams. I'll be needing you and your men for the final attack. Sindorin said.
"We will sweep into the main complex, and we'll meet up with Tajos' forces in the center and swing around to catch Mandalore's opponent in a pincer movement." Sindorin finished, closing the Holoprojector.
"Any questions?" Sindorin asked?
Rynech Viatl
06-21-2009, 10:08 PM
Rynech saluted Mandalore and walked out of the room. While he was glad that they had formulated a plan that seemed would have a higher success rate, he couldn't help but feel disappointed that he would be leading the orbital assault. Sure, once they had mopped up the resistance in orbit, he and his men would go planetside, but he feared that by then Sindorin's, Tajos's, and Mandalore's forces would have achieved victory. This was going to be the largest battle the Champions of Mandalore have ever fought; and Rynech couldn't help but feel that he and his men were going to be on the sidelines.
Sending a message to Windstriker over his helmet comm, he sent a list of men that had been assigned to him; about a fourth of all of the CoM. Included amongst them was Norko Vonus, Gale Skreev'kyr, and his son, Myith.
"Commander, make sure every one of our vode on this list knows that they're under my command. They're to meet at the hangar bay, along with you and me. I've received my orders from Mandalore."
Prudii Ramikad

[OOC: I'd love too;)]
(OOC: I'll be your room mate also.)
Prudii looked around the hanger. There were mandalorians everywhere some talking with friends and others going to briefings. None of them looked familiar to Prudii.
"They all have a purpose here," Prudii thought as he continued to look around lost and confused. Tired of being the only one there that had no idea what to do, Prudii decided to go to the crew quarters to meet some of his new vode and hopefully find a place to stay.
When Prudii got to the crew quarters most of the rooms were already full. After a few minutes of searching Prudii finally managed to find a room with only two people in it.
"Is it ok if I bunk here vode," he said as he walked into the room.
Theros
06-22-2009, 01:36 AM
Theros had been spending the last couple days working his gear and prepping the explosives he had. Mostly creating shaped grenades that would punch through heavy armor although thier radius was much less.
He also had been working on a modifying a grenade to send out an electorstatic pulse that would short out electronics. Similar to what he had seen sith use in the past. However they used ION particles which could be shielded against with the proper generator and made an explosion. He had most of the grenade completed but he need assistance with the delivery mechanism. If he could get at least a few of these created before the battle it could mean the difference
Taking a break he Decided to head down to the chow hall. Maybe he could find a couple of other weapon experts down thier who could assist him over the next couple days. Or if nothing else quell the rumbling in his stomach.
( ooc anyone who has some knowledge in weapons creation would be welcome or anyone just in the chow hall who wants to chat )
Jak Covell
06-22-2009, 02:48 AM
"Any questions?" Sindorin asked?
Jak Covell nodded grasping the situation and plan, he then asked Champion Sindorin
“Sir, when we are attacking the complex I assume we will be fighting armed guards?”
He continued saying
“And I also am wondering what kind of non-infantry we will be facing when lending indirect fire.”
Myith
06-22-2009, 03:00 AM
Myith couldnt sleep and instead began walking down the halls, he walked by a room of troopers all armoring up. He passed some mandalorians talking about the two week break they had just finished.
"Thats that jetii." one whispered.
Myith walked on by passing a room where where Gale, Norko and Prudii were all unpacking.
"Hello, I wouldnt get too comfortable we arent going to be on this ship too long." Myith said.
Windstriker
06-22-2009, 03:29 AM
"Aye. Consider it done." Stryker answered Champion Viatl's message, and immediately sent the following message to the warriors Viatl had listed:
"If you've received this message, then you have been assigned to Champion Viatl's squadron, Darasuum Cabur. You are to meet with Champion Viatl and myself in the Hangar Bay 4 posthaste for mission briefing. Windstriker out."
Myith
06-22-2009, 03:59 AM
As Myith finished his last sentance his HuD displayed an order,
"If you've received this message, then you have been assigned to Champion Viatl's squadron, Darasuum Cabur. You are to meet with Champion Viatl and myself in the Hangar Bay 4 posthaste for mission briefing. Windstriker out"
Myith smiled "Didnt even need to force to predict that one, See you guys in the Hangar, if anyone wants to come I'll hold the elevator." he said and took his leave.
He walked out and towards the elevator, he fiddled with his armor bracer, he had made some modifications to it while he had been off for two weeks.

Before Gale had a chance to invite to two Mandalorians into the room, Myith stopped by and warned them that they shouldn’t bother bunking. Not more than a second after he had finished, she received her squad assignment from Stryker on her holonet link.
She scrambled to strap her equipment and supplies on before jogging out the door after Myith. She turned to the two vode behind her and waved. “Ret'gar bat kyrbej [See you on the battlefield],” she shouted to them as she rounded the corner.

*Nork almost had the first item out of his backpack when Myith came walking in saying that they shouldn't unpack yet, Nork looked him in the eyes from beneath his helmet saying*
"Says who?"
*A moment after that he received the message from Stryker and he said to himself*
"Says he, I guess"
*Nork quickly put the item back in his backpack and swung it against his back. walking out of the quarters to the nearby corridor, stepping into another elevator, activating it and waiting for it to reach hangar bay 4's level*
Tracyn
06-22-2009, 12:26 PM
Tracyn payed close attention to his Champions plan and he didn't mind the idea of landing with Tome'tayl and other of his vode. He listened to Jak's questions and waited for Sin'ika to answer them before adding his piece of mind "I know you love having me around Sin'ika, but I feel sorry for the vod'ika who'll be flying without me. Once we hit dirt, should the initial escort fly out to assist Rynech? Or should we keep them around for eventual air support?"
Tracyn looked straight back into Sindorin, waiting for his Champions decision, and once he was done explaining, the green armored mando casually said "I don't have enough explosives to level these whole buildings..." He pointed at the Surtr's main complex facilities "should I go get more?" he then half smirked looking at Sindorin. Both men looking at the red head mando knew the man's passion for things that were shiny and went boom.
Kriel Strax
06-22-2009, 12:43 PM
Kriel paused mid-stride alongside Aeridas as Tajos' voice rumbled through the transmitters inside his helmet. He nodded a moment, then sighed and shook his head at the shorter woman. "Looks like chow's gonna have to wait, my new friend. Tajos wants Buurenaar Rusuur gathered in hangar five." He almost sounded disappointed that his new friend wasn't among the names listed for him to round up. Kriel offered his hand to Aeridas.
"Good luck. Maybe I'll see you on the ground." She clasped his forearm in the traditional manner and he turned on his heel to find the men Tajos had listed for him to gather- it didn't take very long, as most of them were already gathered in the hangar. Within ten minutes, Kriel had gathered the stragglers that he'd been given the list to find, worked his way back to the hangar with them in tow and approached Champion Tal.
"So," he began, "what's the plan?"
Aeridas Sia'ryd
06-22-2009, 02:35 PM
Aeridas watched Kriel's retreating back for a moment before turning on her heel and heading in the opposite direction. It was time to find transport to the Potemkin. She retreated back to the main hangar bay to look for a shuttle transport. There were quite a few still landing from Talus, and she thought maybe one of the pilots would be willing to drop her at the other ship on its way back planetside.
She tried a couple of shuttles before finally running into a pilot that agreed to make the drop. And after that it was only a short ride to the Potemkin and Aeridas was dropped in the main hangar bay of Sindorin's ship. Time to report in, she thought, and went in search of Sindorin.

A'den was walking back onto the ship that took him here, and the owner must of been delighted.
"NO! I'm not taking you ANYWHERE!" he said, with a frieghtend look on his face.
"Do I really scare people that much?" thought A'den.
"Lets be diplomatic about this." replied A'den.
"Yeah, thats what you said before you knocked me cold." mumbled the owner.
"Double the credits this time. You just need to take me to a ship just about 5 minutes away."
The owner sighed and sat down in the pilots chair, procceeded to pull out of the hangar, and began piloting the ship the the Potemkin.
((OOC: Speeding up 20 minutes.))
After docking on the Potemkin A'den walked off the ramp, and to his delight he wasn't greeted by a platoon of Mando's aiming at him.
"Where can I find Champion Sindorin?" A'den said to one of the hangar workers.
The worker pointed in the general direction.
"Thanks." A'den replied before walking off.
Several minutes of walking down the corridor that the worker pointed at, and A'den saw a man who fit the discription of Sindorin.
"Are you Champion Sindorin?" A'den asked "If yes, I'm here to join the Champions of Mandalore."

06-22-2009, 03:54 PM
Dha-kad looked at the beeping display in his fighter, What are this aliit upto now then? he thought as he read the sensor display.
Switching over to his communtications pannel, he pulled up some of the chatter between the ships that his computer had picked up and finished decoding, "..... ready the foreward hanger, looks like we got alot of shuttles from the Fury coming over....", he frowned and switched over to another recording that his computer had taken ".....'Potemkin', this is 'Revans Fury ATC', the Shuttles and Wardroids have started to move to your hangers, as per Mandalores orders... 'Revans Fury ATC' this is 'Potemkin' Understood and thanks for the heads up...."
Dha switched the com unit off and tried to work out what was going on, The Big ship, 'Revans Fury' was disgorging troops and equipment to the smaller ship 'Potemkin', and the amount of suttles coming from Talos had increased by a huge amount...... Their off to fight some where....but where Dha realised.
Can't work this one out with out more Intel, Dha set his communications unit to look for any named places or planets that it might intercept from the ship to ship chatter, and settled back for another long wait....
Markus Kimes
06-22-2009, 03:55 PM
"This is Davrel to Sarge Kimes. We've arrived on the Potemkin and all the gear's here. We'll be waiting for you."
"Ok Davrel. You and the vode hang tight. OmaCour and I'll be there shortly.
He put his comlink in his pocket and turned to face OmaCour. He was about to speak when he was cut off by his comlink.
"Uh, boss. There's a Mandalorian in full red armor who keeps mumbling something about strangling you if you don't get here soon."
"I'll worry about that. You guys just hang tight."
"Sir, we can-"
"I said hang tight." And he shut the comlink off.
"Well aren't we in a good mood today?" joked OmaCour.
"Can it, Jaer. C'mon. Let's get to the docking bay."
"Aren't you going to put on your helmet and top part of your Mando armor?" Kimes was wearing the bottom part of his Mando uniform, and a tank-top.
"I want to show off my beautiful, muscular body," Kimes replied, and laughed.
"Nah, it's too hot in here," he continued. "I'll suit up when we arrive on the Potemkin so that Champion Sin doesn't feel insulted."
The two men left the crew quarters and began to head to the docking bay. A few minutes later the two men entered the docking bay and walked to their ship, the Acer The pilot was there, along with three of Kimes' men...and their gear. Apparently Davrel had forgotten to mention that. This annoyed him even more, but he tried to make the best of it.
"Alright boys, pack it into the ship."
The men began packing up the gear into the ship and this got the pilot's attention.
"Jaing, fix my gun," said Kimes, and he threw the gun to his pilot. "I also need you to fly us to the Potemkin. The rest of teh team's already aboard."
"Will do boss," said Jaing. "I'll get it fired up now."
The three soldiers were loading up the last of the gear and then were getting on to the ship. Kimes stood at the ramp, Jaing got into the cockpit and OmaCour walked to Kimes.
"Aight verd, get in. We're leaving," Kimes said with a grin on his face.
OmaCour forced a smile on his face, but knew he wouldn't forget what Kimes had just done. The two men walked onto the ship and the ramp went up.
"Next stop, the Potemkin," said Jaing.
The ship took off and left Revan's Fury, and began to head for the Potemkin. Inside, Kimes looked at OmaCour and the three soliders inside.
"Once we get to the Potemkin I want you three to unload the gear and catch up with the rest of our boys. You guys can then relax. It'll be a while before the battle begins. But make sure you all rest up. OmaCour, you're coming with me."
"Where are we going, verd?"
"We've got to check in with Sin. He's probably wondering where we are."

06-22-2009, 06:02 PM
Myith and Gale took the elevator down to see Rynech and Stryker, as the doors opened they stepped out into Hangar 4, seconds later Norko's elevator arrived as well.
Rynech and Stryker were standing over by their ships.
Myith walked over to his father,
"Buir, whats our mission?" he asked.
As he finished a number of mandalorian soldiers started walking off the elevator behind Gale, and Norko.

Gale Skreev'kyr
06-22-2009, 07:33 PM
Darasuum Cabur, the eternal guardian, she pondered as she elevator dropped down, it’s an interesting name for a squadron. I’ll have to ask ori’verd Viatl why he had chosen it.
Gale's train of thought had come to an abrupt halt as she and Myith finally arrived in Hanger Bay 4. She glanced around looking for fellow squad mates and her commanding officers. Walking the length of the bay, she unconsciously slid her hands to each holster and ammunition bag checking to see that she had all the supplies she needed.
She was excited about the upcoming mission to say the least. Sure she had fought her fair share of battles against invaders and hunted hundreds of jungle monsters that belonged only in nightmares, but this would be different. This time it would be she and her brethren would be taking the fight to an enemy that clearly had the home field advantage.
Finally spotting a few familiar faces, Myith and Gale made their way towards the group of Mandalorians awaiting their orders.

Noticing a few other troopers that he had assigned to the forces under his command, Sindorin rose to greet them.
"Aer'ika, A'den, it is good to see you both as well. Please, sit and join us." Sindorin said, offering up a pair of crates. He also went over the plan with the two of them, summarizing it so that they understood the battle concepts.
"Also, to answer your question Warlord, we're expecting stiff resistance. That is why I'm bringing along Armored assets as well as a few mortar teams that Aeridas will be commanding. She will provide you with fire support when needed." Sindorin said.
He looked over at Tracyn and also answered his question.
"If Rynech needs help, he can call on you for assistance, otherwise I will need your teams on the ground. I'm expecting the forces under Rynech to break the blockade and once that is done, he will likely provide Close Air Support for the forces planetside." Sindorin finished.
He looked in the direction of Aeridas and A'den and asked them,
"You vode got any questions before we gear up?" He asked
Markus Kimes
06-22-2009, 08:05 PM
A few hours later the Acer touched down on the Potemkin and Kimes was thrilled that the ship hadn't taken off without him. He then took out his comlink.
"Kimes to Davrel. We've just arrived on the Potemkin. Meet us in the docking bay by the Acer."
"Understood Sarge. See you there."
The ship unloaded the ramp and the three soldiers began unloading the rest of the gear. Kimes and OmaCour then walked down the ramp and waited for Davrel to appear. Inside the cockpit, Jaing was busy trying to figure out why Kimes' gun hadn't gone off and began to fix the gun. A few minutes later Davrel appear with two other soldiers.
"Se'cuy Sarge! Glad to see that you got here safely," said Davrel and he grabbed Kimes' arm, the standard greeting of all Mandalorians.
"Thanks Davrel." He then motioned to the three soldiers that came to the Potemkin with him. "Show these boys where you stored all you gear and then take them to our crew quarters."
"You got it boss." With that the three soldiers walked off with Davrel and the two other Mandalorian soldiers with him. Kimes then stopped them.
"Davrel, you got a minute?"
Davrel turned around and stopped. He then spoke to the two Mandalorians with him.
"Thrux, Flunt. Show these guys to the armory. Kimes'll be angry if we don't have all the gear. Then take 'em to the crew quarters. Understood?"
"Sure Davrel. We got it," replied Thrux.
Davrel then walked to Kimes.
"What is it?"
"Where is Champion Sin? He's probably wondering where I am."
"Boy, you've got that right. To my understanding everyone's checked in from Kom'rk Be Kot, except you. However, I could be wrong."
"Okay I didn't need that, but thanks anyways. 'd you know where he is?"
"He's probably on the bridge or in the command room." He began to look around the room and saw a Mandalorian in full red armor just a few hundred kilometers away talking to a few other Mando soldiers. "Or he's right there," he said pointing to the Mando in red armor.
"Ok, thanks Davrel. Get to the others and make sure they're well rested. Let's go OmaCour."
Kimes and OmaCour began heading towards Champion Sindorin while Davrel started back to the crew quarters. He then turned around.
"You're goin like that to see the boss?" he yelled across the room.
Kimes looked down. He was still in his tank-top and wasn't in full uniform.
"Thanks Davrel," he yelled back.
Kimes quickly ran onto the Acer and gear up in his Red Mandalorian armor with black trim. Before he left the ship he entered the cockpit and spoke to Jaing.
"Remember vod. Fix the gun, and no funny business or else this time you'll end up dead."
"You go it, Mr. Kimes."
Kimes then walked down the ramp and walked to OmaCour.
"Ready Jaer?" he asked.
"Yeah verd," he answered.
The two men put on their helemts and began walking towards Champion Sindorin. When they got to the champion they stopped.
Sin then turned and looked at them.
"Well aren't you two an odd couple." He was refering to the huge height difference between the two men.
"Sargeant Markus J. Kimes and Jaer K. OmaCour reporting for duty, sir! Sorry about the wait."

"Likewise, do you have any questions?" Sindorin asked.
Tracyn
06-22-2009, 08:51 PM
With his questions answered Tracyn looked around for other potential questions. He noted the too often used "sir" coming out of a mandos mouth and just sighed in the privacy of his helmet. Once the whole briefing was done Tracyn stood up, wished everybody present well and called out the fighters that would fly escort for the Potemkin.
A short and relaxed briefing had cleared up the squadron's objectives and duties. He would divide the 12 ships under his command into three 4 man flights. Tracyn had the luxury of naming the squadron and he looked at them all. "When we're out there we'll be Tal squadron". Blood squadron had a nice ring to it and sure as hell would please Sindorin. He then gave each mando his number.
Tracyn fixed the shifts they would take during their last day of waiting. In the end, he wanted all of the people he knew to get enough rest before the mess started. And as part of a small testament of their traat'aliit, each fighter under his command was to add the same blood red that made up most of Sindorin's armor onto their birds. Some had settled for simple stripes, others had painted a whole wing red, while some more artistic had stylized their ships with red. The process had taken half an hour or so after all the fighter systems had checked out.
It wasn't very military like but now each fighter represented an extension of Champion Sindorin's mighty gauntlet, and Tracyn was going to pound that gauntlet hard into the Surtr clan's face.

Rynech Viatl
06-23-2009, 05:29 AM
As Myith, Norko, and Gale arrived, he held up a finger when Myith and Norko questioned him about the battle. He wanted to make sure that every single Mandalorian under his command had arrived before he spoke. He didn't want to explain the plan 5 times..
As his hud's IFF confirmed that every name on his list had arrived, and moved in to hear, Rynech began. "Our invasion of Concord Dawn will begin in..." He checked his HUD's chrono, then continued..."36 hours. Mandalore and my fellow Champions have set up our plan of attack.
"Sindorin's ship has significant sensor jamming capabilities. He's going to use that to get his, Mandalore's, and Tajos's forces onto the surface quickly."
He paused. This was the bad news. He wouldn't any groans or anything of the sort; they respected Rynech too much. But he would tell by their body language that they wouldn't be pleased in their role.
"We, along with Republic space forces, will combat the traitor's, and Sith, space forces. That means we don't hit the surface until the opposing fleet's been turned to slag."
This is the part where you enhance the truth, Rynech, he thought to himself. "I have no doubt that we will be needed on the surface. But Mandalore also needs us to clear the skies. Once we make sure the enemy doesn't have any air support, we'll be able to gut some aruetii."
You don't know that. By the time the space battle is over, the assault may be, too.
"Not all of us are going to pilot a fighter, of course. But if you can find one, or if you piloted your own ship here, then you will fly. Anyone who doesn't, I expect to be at battle readiness at all times. You'll be the first ones in the shuttles going to the surface when it's time for us to fight. Prepare yourselves, collect anything you need, and find a ship if you can.
"Let's show the Sith, and the traitorous Surtr clan, the wrath of the Darasuum Cabur! OYA!"
Rynech received a hearty oya from every man under his command. His words of certainty when it came to their role in the battle were false, sure, but his vode needed it. The last thing he needed were disheartened men going into battle. They wanted to fight for their honor on the surface, and so did Rynech.

Tajos Tal
06-23-2009, 07:15 AM
"So, what's the plan?"
Tajos nodded at Kriel and was silent for a few moments..he looked away to review the warriors that had gathered. A small group no doubt, compared to the other divisions, but that was not a bad trait.
He looked back at Kriel and murmured "I'm glad your here ner vod, thank you for bringing the group here, let us begin." He then turned to face the warriors that had gathered..
"Greetings to you all, I am champion Tajos Tal if you haven't heard already and I'll be your commanding officer during this mission and hopefully your commanding officer in future missions as well.." He paused for a few seconds, feeling a sadness of sorts but yet great pride looking upon all these great warriors. What they were about to take part in would, for some, be there last, it troubled him greatly.
"I'm not good at these type of speeches, briefings, what have you, I'll make this nice and short for you all. The mission is quite simple for us in description, yet extremely difficult in reality, but by no means impossible. We will be dropping out of orbit from the Potemkin, to land on the surface as the first invasion force. During descent we will most likely come under extreme heavy anti air fire, the ones that make it down will then come under extreme fire from other Mandalorians, clan Surtr." Again he paused, a sudden under tone of whispers between the warriors could be heard. He was certain they weren't expecting us to be up against clan Surtr. "From there we will meet up with Champion Sindorin with his forces, we will work with them and flank the opposing force, while Mand'alor and his troops will invade from the front. Sindorin called this tactic the pincer movement."
"I personally want you all to slaughter everyone and everything you see when we land, show no mercy to these traitors, for they will show no mercy to you. They are with the Sith, they are not your vode, they are vile, worthless, they are the enemy. So let us make this day chaos for them, let us make this day one they shall never forget."
"..As for tactics, do not die, stick together but not too close, fight with a vengeance, and show no mercy"
He paused for a final time, "You have less then an hour to get on board the Potemkin, please get all you necessities from the Raven's Fury and transfer it to our new base of operations. I will meet with you all once more just before launch, if you have any questions speak now."

"Sir, even as much as I disagree with the idea of fighting in space. I have these schematics of the enemy base, troop shifts and the like and they probably won't come in handy with me, to which champion must I send these?!"

"Alright vode, we have a battle to win. Everyone to their stations. We ship out soon. Oya Mand'alor!" Sindorin said, seeing their return salute. He turned on his heel and made his way up towards the bridge of the Potemkin.
When the door swooshed open he saw a flurry of activity. Men in crimson uniforms, adorned with the symbol of Kom'rk Be Kot's armored fist, were busy about their duties. Checking readouts, preparing the ship for battle and coordinating efforts with the Revan's Fury.
Walking to the center of the bridge, he took his seat in the Command Salon just above the navigation and weapons consoles. He opened a channel to Mand'alor onboard the Revan's Fury.
"Mandalore, this is Sindorin. We're all good here, but we still need to get Tajos' forces onboard before we're set to hyperspace." Sindorin said. He also sent a message to Tajos, letting him know his troops should join them on the Potemkin soon.

Waking up abruptly to what seemed like a earthquake, he looks up at a Mandalorian clad in his battle armor. Shortly after the guy runs out and disapears down the hallway. "What was that all about?" Darím says to himself, yawning as he gets out of his bunk. He looks around in the room, all the others are gone. '..that's strange' he thinks to himself, checking the time. 'Crap!'. Grabbing his blaster belt he runs out heading for the docking bay. He had overslept once again. Halfway there, he stops abruptly and turns around. He forgot his armor. 'Nah.. screw that..' he thinks, continuing towards the Potemkin.
When he gets there he's relieved to see he made it in time, making his way through the massive amount of war-ready Mandalorians. 'So what.. I like being special.' He enters the Potemkinand goes to the bridge. "I'm here, Si-.." He stumbles through the door, but quickly gets back on his feet. "..Sindorin. Ready for battle."
Myith
06-23-2009, 06:24 PM
Myith listened to Rynech go over the plan and he instantly picked up on the ground forces part, he knew that they probably wouldnt get on the ground, Rynech was just motivating the soldiers.
"Oya" He yelled with the men around him
He frowned beneath his helmet, he hated space battles as much as anyone. He decided however to keep the idea of ground battle alive in the men.
"I can feel, that we are going to be on the ground, there will still be plenty of fighting" Myith said in a deeper more wise voice. He knew he was lying, but hell if they got lucky he'd look a little smarter.
He came on a shuttle, which meant he was stuck waiting until he was called down after the space battle was done, he was the reinforcement. Myith didnt like the idea of being back up. So he decided to find an open starship. He walked around looking for one that he could take without anyone bothering him. He found a black starship with white markings all over it. He looked around to see if it belonged to anyone.
He opened a comm to the squad.
"This ship belong to anyone?" He asked over the comm.
No one replyed so he got inside to check if there were any items belonging to the owner.
As he sat inside the cockpit he looked all over the floor the ship was spotless.
He brushed up against the console trying to look behind the chair.
"Sith fighter 33039 online, welcome back Trooper Kert Malgo"
Myith turned around quickly looking at the viewscreen, a holographic image of a sith pilot popped up.
"Ummm, thank you" Myith said
"Will you be flying back to base this evening" The hologram asked.
"Ummm no, computer erase any identification screenings and set new owner of ship to be.... Myith Viatl."
The computer began humming. "Process finished please put in your password for the last time to verify your identity." It asked.
Myith looked around, taped to the top of the cockpit glass was a peice of paper.
"Malgo Rocks?" Myith read
"Thank you, identity changed, welcome Myith Viatl." The computer finished.
Myith shut the hologram down and climbed out.
"Well guess I have a ship now..." Myith said.

Gale sighed heavily within the confines of her helmet. Fantastic, I'm not a pilot so I'll be stuck in a transport vessel until we actually get to the surface, and who knows how long that could take.
The hanger bay was filled with fighters, bombers, multi-roles and troop transports. She weaved through the crowds of Mandalorians prepping for the op, making her way to the nearest transport. The one nearest to Rynech had its loading ramp down and was currently being stocked with weapons and supplies. Gale decided to lean against the hydraulics of the ramp and give the loading crew plenty of space to work while she waited for any other members of Darasuum Cabur to show up.
I really should take a crash course in space combat when we get back. I don't feel like sitting on the side lines again.
Kriel Strax
06-23-2009, 08:24 PM
"Don't worry," the shorter of the two Mandalorians muttered back, "I've got your back."
Kriel gave a nod to Tajos, accompanied by a sly smile, and turned his gaze to the other Mandalorians. The way Tajos spoke, the inflection in his voice, told Kriel that things were going to get bad...nasty...probably even grittier and bloodier than Ilum. He cringed at the thought. THen came the mention of the Surtr clan...which caught Kriel's attention. Mand'alor Surtr's clan... he mused quietly as whispers and mutters spread through the ranks like wildfire.
They were quickly ended by the sound of Kriel barking "Oei, quiet!" loudly, sharply. "They're men. Just like you, just like me. They feel. They bleed. They die...and they will die by the dozen." Then, Champion Tal went over the battle plan. It seemed good enough, especially if they could catch the Surtr Clan and the Sith with the pincer and envelop them. If more than just a few, maybe a company or so at the most, got through then there was the possibility of trouble.
Tajos paused for a final time. "You have less then an hour to get on board the Potemkin, please get all you necessities from the Raven's Fury and transfer it to our new base of operations. I will meet with you all once more just before launch, if you have any questions speak now."

He paused briefly.
"Additionally...if you're going to have warriors that cannot or will not be piloting, I think it'd be more efficient to send one vessel down to the planet accompanying the main ground strike force instead of having them sit in orbit doing nothing. Obviously you don't want inexperienced pilots flying out there, that only assures a quick death and a waste of a good warrior."
Thoughfully, Stryker rubbed his chin. "If it suits you, then I could stay behind to wipe these slimeballs out of space, and you could co-locate yourself with the surface-bound vessel to lead the men on the ground."

"What kind of terrain are we looking at? Enemy numbers, position and the like would be good to know, too."
"The plan is for us to drop into a valley, the valley contains quite a few rolling hills, a few flat areas where farm property is located. Foliage is rather sparse in the valley itself, so cover is almost non-existant in that area. Near the base of the mountain side the forest tree-line begins, if anyone happens to fall in those places go for the AA on the mountain side. As for enemy numbers, we are outnumbered, I cannot put a exact number on how many outnumber us but do now that we are much better warriors then them. Us being outnumbered should not be a problem. Enemy positions are unknown when it comes to infantry, but do expect lots of machine gunner positions, fortified bunkers on some of the hills protecting the AA, ect ect. Some of the houses and other building will most likely be fortified as well, housing lots of infantry and lots of firepower as well. Do expect to engage armor during this fight as well, deal with them accordingly. All of you know your training. AA positions are located on the mountain sides as well as on some of the larger hills in the valley. The AA on the mountain side is on a incline, they have the ability to shoot down on landed transport ships and anything else in the valley. The ones on the hills can only shoot at us when we are descending. Anything else?"
The room was quiet..
"Alright then, like I said earlier we will be meeting one final time just before launch. Expect it to be 40 minutes before launch."

Kylar sat next to his weapons locker. Polishing his 2 Mandalorian heavy blasters and checking his Lightsabers, Kylar prepared for the Battle that was to come. Being one of the few Mandalorians with force wielding backgrounds didn't put him above the ranks within the Champions.
Kylar had been aboard the Potemkin for a grand total of 3 hours. Sindorion had not been able to personally brief him due to the preparations of the ship for the battle to come.
"I'm reinforcement infantry. Well, at least I get a squad. My squad will just have to be the best of the best. All Mandalorians will look towards it with prestige and honor." Kylar though to himself.
Holstering his blasters and lightsabers, Kylar went to his squad bunks to brief them on the mission.

Theros listened intently to thier intended goals. THe plan seemed simple enough. THey needed to breakthrough a heavily fortified zone and reach a fortified base. Keeping the enemy busy and from fortifying thier brethren. A job the Buurenaar Rusur were made for.
One factor in this mess could be the AA guns useful against air assault in a valley they could provide a blood bath for whomever controlled them.
Theros quickly moved up to champion Tal.

"Alternatively, we have the Revan's Fury, of course, which is supported by 40 Hammerhead cruisers. These each hold 12 Aurek starfighters, which means we have 480 in total. Then there's the motley crew of ships our vode have brought aboard."

Nork started prepping the ship for usage in the upcoming battle, at least he had something to do, even if it wasn't half as good compared to fighting opponents on the ground, he looked around and decided he deserved some rest untill the battle started. he sat there in the pilot's seat of an aurek fighter, trying to take a nap*
Kriel Strax
06-26-2009, 05:23 PM
Kriel led a few of the other Mandalorians that had been assigned to Buurenaar Rusuur to the armory aboard Revan's Fury to grab their gear. He secured his typical loadout (heavy repeater, fragmentation grenades, slug-thrower side arm, shrieker and concussive grenades) and paused when something caught his eye. Smoke grenades. The Trooper picked up one of the cyllindrical devices and held it high so the others can see.
"I want all of you to grab one of these apiece. One green, one red, one yellow." He tossed the grenade to another Mandalorian. "Should radio equipment fail or be jammed or a pilot be unable to see you, these make excellent signalling devices. Use green for 'all clear' pick-up, red to signify either a hot LZ or a position for support munitions to strike and yellow for multi-purpose, depending upon the situation. These things have been used for centuries; they're still around for a good reason."
There was little argument. After everyone had their gear in check, they worked their way back to the hangar, caught a ride to the Potemkin on one of the many shuttles going back and forth and disembarked onto the ship. Kriel turned to one of the men following him, forwarded him a short list of names and told him to go find those men and have them report to the bridge. As the Mandalorian left to do as he was told, Kriel went to the bridge in search of Champion Sindorin- there was something he was curious about.

Gale pushed herself off of the transport's hydraulic lift, jogged down the ramp and positioned herself just outside earshot of their conversation. She was hoping to catch Stryker before he left. 06-27-2009, 12:02 AM
Myith was walking around the hangar, he left his newly aquired sith fighter alone. He wasnt quite sure how to fly it but he'd learn while he was out there.
He looked into the minds of people around him for fun, Rynech was thinking of the battle, Stryker about the same, some pilots to the left were thinking of home, their children and their wives, Gale running was thinking about how to kill a force sensitive.
Myith thought about Gales question, well you could stick a blade between his ribs into his heart, blast him when hes not looking, orbital bombardment, or if hes slow a cannon might just about blow him away unless he can dodge or create a barrier strong enough. They could be killed any number of ways, they died just like troopers did, but mostly the died to other force sensitive's.
He walked over to an open area and ignited his lightsaber, he would work on his forms while he was here, especially Makashi. He stepped into an offensive form, and began calling on the force to move his body, he mimicked the steps of the form, and started slowly swinging his saber. He began blocking invisible blows, and stabbing at invisible sith lords. He dodged and parried as if he was fighting and soon he became a blur of movement with the lightsaber being almost in two places at once. His form was to combat force sensitive attackers, seeing as no average person could keep up with the blade movements.

Then I'll make sure we all get some shut eye so that we can perform better durring the battle. I'll leave my comlink on incase you need me for anything else, boss. Ret'urcye Mhi, vode."
With that Kimes rose, turned around, and started heading for the crew quarters. OmarCour got up and faced Sin.
"A pleasure to meet you, sir." He then followed Kimes back to the crew quarters.
Kimes was ready to break the news to his boys. He was also wondering if Jaing had fixed his gun. the two men then headed for the crew quarters.
***********************************
Kimes awoke and glanced down at his watch. He was surprised at what his watch read. If his watch was correct then he'd slept 12 hours, something he'd never done. That can't be right, he thought. He looked over at his soldiers and to his surprise they were all still asleep. Now would be a good time to check on Jaing, he thought. Kimes rose from his bed, and left the room, leaving his helmet and upper body Mando armor in his crew quarters.
Minutes later Kimes arrvied to the hanger bay. He walked over to his ship, the Acer, and started banging on the hatch.
"Lower the walkway, Jaing!" he yelled to the pilot. The walkway was instantly lowered, and he walked aboard.
"Welcome back, boss," Jaing called from the cockpit of the ship. "I fixed your gun. It's lying on the table there."
Kimes walked over to the table where he and his boys would normally play pazaak, or when Kimes would give his soldiers battle layouts. He picked up his gun, loaded it, and then put in his holster.
"Thanks Jaing," he called back. Kimes then walked into one of the crew quarters on his ship and looked at a shelf on the wall. He walked over to the shelf, pressed a button, the shelf extended, and multiple lightsabers appeared on the shelf. He looked down and began to count; there were 17 lightsabers. He began to think what other lightsabers he should add to his belt for the upcoming battle and Jaing walked into the room.
"Rumor has it we're leaving for Concord Dawn soon. I want to make sure that everything's functioning properly before we enter the battle," and Jaing headed for the cockpit.
"Alright Jaing, you do that." Kimes didn't have the slightest interest in what Jaing was saying. He was recalling which lightsaber belonged to what Jedi Knight and either if he'd killed them or if they had been one of his friends during the Order. Finally, he chose two that appealed to him, clipped them onto his belt, and pressed another button that stored all the sabers away and the shelf shrunk. He then started to head for the walkway.
"I'll see you later, Jaing," he called to the cockpit, and walked out of his ship.
Tracyn
06-27-2009, 08:24 AM
The fighters had all been checked out twice and for some three times, and all the pilots were rested. Each had spent their own time as they had deemed fit and Tracyn spent it sleeping on his fighter's wing. He had proven a strange sight for those who didn't know him, yet other's would just smile and shake their head saying "that's Tracyn for you..." and comments along those lines.
Yet when he got up he motioned for all of his fighters to get in ready. He had received a message from Sindorin, asking him to get the fighters in position. There already were four fighters patrolling the space near the Potemkin.
The green armored mando activated his squad com and spoke out : "All right vode, Sindoring wants his best fist flying next to his pride and glory. Let's put on a show for those watching! Oya!" as a reply all of his squad yelled back with a greater "oya". These boys and girls were ready for the tough fight, yet they appreciated the play about before the fighting actually started. Some might not come back and this was the opportunity to make a few lasting memories.
"Tal leader, You are cleared for take off. Jate oya'kari, vod'ika!" came the voice of control.
"Darasum Kote, Ori'vod." replied Tracyn as his ship lifted itself up followed by the 7 other fighters as each got clearance from the "mother ship".
Just as they got out, his fighter wings moved up and the patrol of 4 were passing by. In single flow all 12 birds got into formation, a few waving their wings about as they greeted each other. "Had a nice beauty sleep Tal 12?" said the pilot now known as Tal 5. "Yeah your sister really know how to give a heck of a massage Tal 5!" and so pleasantries were exchanged between each of the fighters. Just as Tracyn took the head of the formation he interrupted the chatter.
"All right Tal squadron! I see you're all in a good mood. How about we share that with our vode stuck inside those big flying crates of metal?" the response was immediate with each pilot giving his own approval to what ever stunt they would pull.
"Wing 2, port side. Wing 3, starboard. Wing 1 on me for underbelly pass. Let's time it so we hit the bridge view panel for crossovers." As he explained the maneuver, all wings were headed to the front of the Potemkin in a tight formation. "Potemkin this is Tal leader. Stay your course. We have something to show you." And before they could answer Tracyn gave the mark "Ready, hit it!" just as they had passed the bow and aligned themselves with the Potemkin.
Within the same time frame the three wings spread out, and for a second it actually looked like a flower at the Potemkin's bow. The petals folding back toward the stem, all 12 ships followed a close flight that would be considered almost an attack run, except all ships had followed Tracyn's initiative and were flying with their painted wings pointed towards the capital ship. Meaning all were flying sideways with their canopies facing the Potemkin.
Anybody who looked out a view port or one of the hangars would be able to see Tal squadron's stunt. Which ended when they had reached the bridge where the three groups criss crossed in a display of skill and teamwork. And at the same time it would show those in the command bridge the new paint some of the fighters had received.
Just as the cleared the area Tracyn gave the order to form up on his fighter Tome'tayl, and congratulated them over their performance.
"Potemkin this is Tal leader. Hope you enjoyed that. Tal squadron now taking escort positions and readying for jump. Over." As Tracyn spoke, some of the pilots were still laughing and exchanging pleasantries. But when Sindorin, after commenting on their stunt, had asked mand'alor for jump clearance, the squadron went silent. They were getting back to work.

Myith didnt want to fly, he had given the ship to a mandalorian tech to scrap.
He walked to the shuttle and sat down to wait till they would go planetside.
He rested his head against the hull and dozed off.

While he held no bias against space combat or any other form as long as he was fighting Sith, Stryker had recognized the general lack of enthusiasm for dogfighting next to prospect of land-based combat, and did what he could to rectify the situation, granting some of others the opportunity they so strongly desired…to face their enemy on ground at Mandalore’s side.
He spotted Gale Skreev’kyr lingering, just a stone’s throw away. After he and Viatl had divvied the men between themselves, Stryker bid the Champion farewell and approached the young huntress. "What's on your mind?"
She spoke with deep concern, “The force users, in the battle circle they turned normal men into mince meat. How can any of us hope to stand a chance?"
Stryker snorted and a small grin formed on his face. “Walk with me." he said softly and turned towards his ship. She nodded and followed the Commander hoping against hope that he knew something she didn't.
He spoke as they entered The Vanguard.
“My first real encounter with the Jedi was 15 years ago. I was just a lieutenant then, having graduated from the academy a year earlier. Accounts of the force user's extraordinary prowess captivated many within the Republic's military ranks...” he led her into the cargo hold, which served as his personal armory.
“Naturally, I had high expectations, but upon my initial meeting with the Jedi...I was disappointed. They were naïve, complacent and overconfident all at the same time...
http://www.lequanart.com/StrykerMean.jpg
Some of them couldn’t take a piss without calling on the force. There was one though that seemed different. He was sharp, incredibly resourceful, and had a practical awareness that was lacking in his brethren, which is likely why he was their General.
During that mission, I was incapacitated by Dark Jedi and taken prisoner.
http://www.lequanart.com/StrykerTorture.jpg
This Jedi General would later rescue me from Sith torture chambers...
http://www.lequanart.com/StrykerEscape.jpg
and after fighting our way through enemy lines to safety...
http://www.lequanart.com/StrykerCover.jpg
He would help would me understand a skilled Jedi's strengths, weaknesses, and how to defend myself and my men against them.
As with any opponent, it’s best to catch them off guard, but this is difficult to do with an opponent that can read your every move.
Force users have the ability to invade and manipulate the minds of those who have not set up their own internal defenses...These defenses simply involve keeping your mind occupied, busy with thought. For instance, I’m shielding my mind as we speak by visualizing a boundless durasteel wall. I’m imagining the texture, and the shine of the cold, dense metal. I’m picturing it's hard, reinforced plating. This technique takes a bit of practice....for now, start by counting backwards from 100 to 0 in your head while performing mundane tasks to shield your thoughts when around them.
The next concern is Lightsabers. From a distance, you'll want to avoid the use of blasters, and stick with carbines, or slug throwers. Grenade launchers work well if your mind is shielded and your opponent is distracted. All, of course, are difficult to deflect.
Up close, beskar or cortosis-woven blades will help, but this is even better." From a nearby crate, Stryker produced a sharp, dark-colored short sword.
"This blade is made from pure cortosis. It's very rare, and saber wielders would like to keep it that way. Its conductive properties will cause lightsabers to temporarily short out upon contact, leaving you just enough time for a close kill…if you’re fast enough.” He extended his arm, presenting the blade to her. “It’s yours now. You know what to do with it.”
She reached out for the blade and wrapped her fingers around the hilt. “Yes, I think I do Commander." She nodded slowly; it was a lot of information to take in at once. At the very least her problem of protecting her mind, her sanctuary, had been solved.
“Also worthy of note,” he added. “Their strength, awareness, speed, and reflexes can be augmented through the force. To counter this, utilize stimulants to enhance your performance beyond your normal limitations. I suggest you use them in battle only.”
He paused slightly, “You don't have any holes in your head, do you?”
Gale looked at him quizzically and cocked her head to the side. “Holes in my head?"
Stryker slowly raised right hand to the side of his head, brushing a patch of short, black hair aside to reveal a large slot.
“It's for implants that can significantly enhance your muscular system, and the neural networking of your brain. They can endow you with hyper-sensitivity to your surroundings and dramatically improve reflexes and reaction time. They can also block outside mental influence and other sensory sensations, allowing you to focus void of distraction.”
She swallowed hard. So this was the price of victory, giving up a piece of your humanity to defeat the Sith...or the Jedi if it came to that. Stimulant injections she could handle, but she wasn't ready for cybernetic implants. Her clan took too much pride in defeating foes with their natural talents. “I think I'll stick with my first option Commander."
Stryker sensed the shock run through her body. "Hey, I was drunk at the time...I thought it was a tattoo..."
She laughed hard. The Commander seemed to have a knack at dispersing tension in a conversation.
“Anyhow, I have one more item for you…” he looked downwards at her waistline, “…if it can fit around those tiny little hips of yours.” He searched through a row of lockers lining the wall. “This should work.” Stryker pulled out what appeared to be a dark blue utility belt. “Let me introduce you to the Tingler….also known as the Electrical Capacitance Shield.” He gently slung the device around her shoulder.
“It will guard you from those nasty lightning attacks. The Tingler absorbs and stores any electrical energy directed at you. The energy is released slowly over a period of time dissipating harmlessly.”
Gale Skreev'kyr
06-30-2009, 06:07 AM
She leaned against the set of lockers running her fingers across the belt. “Well that solves my ‘getting turned into a human conduit’ problem…Now what about getting thrown off of cliffs or into durasteel walls?"
She continued, "Oh and we can't forget being choked to death either. I've heard of that happening to quite a few of our vode in the past."
“Knowing that you might be forcefully hurled at any given moment, I suggest you mind your surroundings. And yes the force choke is quite devastating, but there's a little known catch...the force user actually needs to see you to perform this ability. This is where a simple flash grenade can work wonders. Keep them readily available, and within arms reach.” Stryker tapped a pouch on the side of his belt.
Flash grenades, stim packs, "The Tingler"...she was going to need to make a list. Gale was rather impressed with Stryker’s extensive knowledge on force user tactics although, she realized, she should have expected no less from a combat veteran. “Well commander, I think you've done quite enough to prepare me for the threats we will no doubt encounter in this war. Are there any other bits of wisdom you'd like to throw in?"
He narrowed his brows and spoke sternly, “Remember the basics. Be aware of your surroundings, and maneuver yourself to maintain advantageous positioning. Move. Shoot. Communicate. Fight as a team and coordinate your attacks… and always make sure someone's watching your six.” His head suddenly jerked up with a shout, “SPARK!!” The astromech bleeped from inside the cockpit, then rolled to his master. Stryker quickly dropped down to one knee, opened a small compartment in the droid's body, and pulled out a small holovid.
“This is the last thing I'm givin’ you, I promise.” He said, raising both hands in the air to emphasize his sincerity. “It's a recording of the counter-measures we just went through. I still have a few left over from instructing Republic Troopers.” He handed her the holovid.
Her mind wandered for just a second. There used to be someone at my six... As quickly as her thoughts had drifted she snapped back to reality. So the commander has given this sort of training to maybe hundreds troopers. She had no doubts that the techniques and battle strategies he had taught her would work. “Combat tested Stryker approved I’m guessing.” She twirled the holovid for a second before sliding it into her gauntlet’s interface.
Stryker chuckled smiling, “Yeah. Something like that...You do realize I expect you to bring back the heads of at least 10 Sith Lords now, right?"
She grinned deviously. “Only if I get to keep the lightsabers, commander. Those seem to be the trophy of choice."
He shook his head and laughed once more, “Everybody wants a damned glowstick..." soon after, the laughter died. He took a deep breath, exhaled, then looked at his latest pupil. "Well then, young miss....off you go. Class is dismissed."
She snapped to attention and saluted. “Aye sir!" she shouted before mumbling under her breath, “of course everyone wants a glowstick, they are perfect for cantina raves..."
Stryker sighed mumbling in response, “Kids these days..." He escorted her outside. Before she parted he gently squeezed her shoulder and spoke softly, “Listen, when you're out there on the battlefield....I want you to take care...."
With a sly grin he added, “.....of my stuff."
At that point Gale was laughing so hard she burst into tears. “Don't worry Commander; I'll bring all your stuff back. Let's just hope all of said stuff will still be in one piece by then."
“Alright..." he said still smiling. “Give them Hell, kid." Stryker disappeared into his ship.
Gale watched him make his exit before turning on her heel and heading towards Rynech. The assault would be a chance to test her mettle against the Sith. She wouldn't let the Commander down.
Shi Akaan
06-30-2009, 06:22 AM
“Are.. Are you Shi Akaan?” an armor plated Mandalorian spoke questioningly as he looked at an old datapad. Shi looks up from his reading and turned towards the Mandalorian as he spoke again “I’m Draklen, Kriel Strax sent me to collect you and bring you to your squad room on the Potemkin.”
Shi looks behind this Mandalorian at the other two standing behind him. They seemed to be as green as Draklen’s armor. “Alright” Shi said as he got up from the bench and collected his equipment. Fallowing Draklen the four walked down several halls, corridors, and floors.
“This is the Buurenaar Rusur squad room. Each one of you have a bunk, storage trunk, and a locker. Suit up and get ready for briefing.” Draklen said right before he walked out of the room. Shi dropped his things next to his bunk. He checked his rifle and the rest of his gear before sitting down and playing pazaak.
Myith
06-30-2009, 06:29 AM
Myith had been listening to thoughts to fall asleep, but he caught glimpses of Strykers thoughts. Usually it was a damned wall, some belt and Gale.
Got a soft spot in that heart Commander? Myith sent the message to Stryker, as it entered his head the durasteel wall popped up Those are some nice gifts, you just made her a pretty strong threat. Just popping the news, I wont be accompanying you in space, not too keen on the idea of blowing up. He sent it to Stryker
You want me to keep an eye on her sir?
Windstriker
06-30-2009, 06:50 AM
Stryker replied to Myith mentally.
Kid that's a real good way to get hurt. If you can't learn to respect the privacy of your vode, then I will personally shove a spare Tingler so far up your shebs, your teeth will shatter.
One more thought was sent before Stryker shielded his mind.
Sure, you can watch out for her. But then...Tion'ad hukaat'kama?
Myith
06-30-2009, 06:57 AM
Myith smiled,
Sorry sir. Others peoples minds are just so much more interesting He sent jokingly
The force watches my back sir. The force and my father. he answered.
He thought about the Tingler, that could definetly stop the lightning, but there was something else he gave her Myith couldnt tell, Strykers thoughts had been shielded well enough to prevent Myith from seeing everything. Even Gale had started to shield her thoughts she was on 86, Myith figured it couldnt be anything too strong. He left the conversationand pulled out of Strykers mind.

OOC: Just drop it then. I don't think you'll listen either way. I'm cool. I'm not saying you're wrong and I am saying that I was incorrect with my assessments. Continue with the thread please. I'll leave these OOC comments up for a while, and then delete them.
Norko
07-03-2009, 08:37 PM
*After a while Nork woke up, he couldn't sleep with a battle ahead of him. it always made him eager. he watched around in the hangar bay inside the Revan's fury, stretching his arms and climbing out of the cockpit of his fighter. stretching his legs as well, while looking through his equipment... he started jogging back and forth through the hangar bay, sometimes making a roll, while continuing to jog... it looked like he was physically preparing for being on the ground, even though it seemed to him he wouldn't be hitting concord dawn soil anytime soon... he felt angry somehow, his thoughts dwelling on the fact that he was designated to space, after some time he took a pause and started eating some military rations from his backpack*
Heimdall Surtr
09-21-2009, 09:57 PM
Heimdall stared at the hologram projected on his desk. The hologram, fed by intelligence from Talron Darklen, showed the last known positions of the Sith and Surtr Clan fleets orbiting Concord Dawn. There must be a weakness here somewhere, he thought to himself. Then, Heimdall was distracted by the familiar WHOOSH sound from the opening of his quarters’ doors.
In walked a familiar face to Heimdall, one that he had known since he was a teenager training in the art of Teras Kasi on the planet Bunduki.
“Ar’core, it’s good to see you. I trust you enjoyed your time in the kolto tank? I’ve always thought my beskar’gam was extremely heavy, but it certainly seems a lot heavier when I’m carrying you over my shoulder,” Heimdall joked.
Ar’core didn’t find Heimdall’s humor to especially entertaining. While the two had always been friends, there was also a palpable tension between them. The two had many competitions in their younger days on Bunduki, and it was often Heimdall that came out on the winning side. Ar’core, being a Jedi, didn’t find it acceptable to be bested by anyone in anything, especially by a Mandalorian.
“I’m alright I guess,” Ar’core replied. “I am still shaking the cobwebs loose… what happened anyway?”
“On Revan’s Fury, just after we had gained access to the bridge, you were…” Heimdall started, but he was interrupted by an alert signal coming from the hologram.
Heimdall’s focus quickly fleeted from his conversation with Ar’core and became fully directed at the information from the hologram on his desk.
“What is it?” Ar’core asked.
“It appears that approximately half of the Sith fleet has left their position orbiting Concord Dawn,” Heimdall explained. “The odds stacked against us were close to impossible before, but with half the Sith fleet leaving we have a definite chance to pull this off. We must act quickly.”
“I agree, but what if it’s a trap?” Ar’core asked cautiously.
“I will contact Talron and try to get to the bottom of this. The last thing we can afford right now is an ambush.”
Heimdall picked up his comlink and said, “Talron Darklen, this is Heimdall Surtr. Do you copy?”
Heimdall waited for several seconds, but just as he was about to lose hope he heard a familiar voice on the other end of the comlink. “I read you loud and clear, Mand’alor.”
“Talron, are my eyes playing tricks on me or has half the Sith fleet patrolling Concord Dawn left?”
“You’re eyes do not deceive you. They have definitely left – my sensors picked them up making a jump to hyperspace approximately twenty minutes ago.”
“Talron, do you have any idea where they’re going?” Heimdall asked.
“My sources, which I trust about as must as you can trust anything these days, told me yesterday that there was a major battle in Hutt Space between the Sith and the Republic. There were many rumors that some of the Sith’s forces stationed here would be going to help fortify their position around Hutta. Based on the direction they left in, I would say it’s a pretty safe assumption, although I don’t like to assume.”
“Alright, thank you ner’vod. Heimdall out.”
Heimdall knew now was the time to strike the enemy. There was no telling how long it would be before the Sith were back, but the sooner the Champions of Mandalore left to begin engaging the Surtr Clan, the greater their chance of success would be – that much was clear.
“Ar’core, follow me to the bridge,” Heimdall ordered. “We must waste no time.”
The two walked onto the bridge and stared out the window. Out of the large window on Revan’s Fury bridge Heimdall could clearly see the forces of the Champions of Mandalore gathering for battle. Not even a year ago we were just a few strong – look what we’ve become now, Heimdall thought to himself.
“Have all the repairs been made to Revan’s Fury?” Heimdall asked one of the Republic technicians on the bridge.
“Yes Mand’alor. The ship is ready for combat.” replied the young technician.
Mand’alor grabbed his comlink and sent out an announcement to all the members of his clan:
Vode,
A glorious day is upon us – one that will surely bring great honor to our clan. Some very reliable data has indicated that a large portion – approximately half – of the Sith fleet has left their position around Concord Dawn to aid in a skirmish in the Hutta system. With that being said, the time to strike is now. I am sending you all coordinates to a rendezvous point near Concord Dawn. Rest assured, the Sith will not be able to detect us there. We will leave immediately.
We have many days of battle ahead of us. We have a lengthy journey to our destination, so I’d recommend getting some rest while we’re in transit. We will go over the final plans for the battle once we all group up at the rendezvous point. Good luck to you all.
Heimdall sent out the coordinates to all the other ships in the Champions’ fleet. Then, with the simple push of a button, Revan’s Fury blasted off into hyperspace to seek the thrill and glory of battle.
